everyone to find a way to celebrate.
The CCS Green Team is a district wide PTO based organization that works with school administrators and staff to help promote green practices in our schools such as using eco-friendly products, reducing tailpipe pollution,
implementing energy-saving initiatives and recycling. We encourage and promote
green clubs in the schools by providing network and educational opportunities and
give students and families environmental clean up and recycling opportunities in
the community. To find out more visit www.ccsgreenteam.org or contact Marcia
Roberts at [email protected].

to our Woodbrook Team!
Even thought the weather was not as cooperative as it could have been, the 5th graders completed the
Foundations of Success program at Camp Tecumseh from Oct 26-28. This would not have been possible
without all of our wonderful and dedicated parent volunteers. No matter if you volunteered behind the
scenes preparing for the experience, gave up precious time to chaperone, or braved the weather to teach a
trail group, every one who contributed was greatly appreciated. Our kids came back with many stories,
new insights and accomplished goals that cannot be taught in the regular class room.
We would like to recognize the following parents for all of the time they volunteered to make this year's
camp experience so valuable to all of our 5th graders:
♦ Behind the scenes: Donel Hakes (shopper extraordinaire), Kristin Kepler, Karen Watson, Carolyn Crane, Beth LaPlante, Maureen Sheehan, Christy Hawkins and Chris Moss.
♦ Chaperones: Diane Abdellah, Bonnie Adams, Ken Barthuly, Michelle Carmichael, Scott Cunningham, Paula DennettRoss, John Harcourt, Janis Hartman, Christy Hawkins, Dave Hurdle, Jeff Keen, Kristin Kepler, Shannon Leishman, Jennifer Mann, Chrissy Moore, Angie Patterson, Scott Prill, Kate Roberts, Shelley Roettger, Claire Ty, Suzi Vertesch,
Tonya Weindorf, Mary Jane Coffing, Stacey Harrington, Jill Pitz, John Pitz
♦ Instructors: Jeslin Alexander-Chacko, Mary Bopp, Anne Marie Cottrell, Sharon Deam, Bob Firenze, Kari Gans, Brad
Gumbert, Jackie Krueger, Michael Lundy, Greg Pergal, Dan Rodgers, Sarah Palmer, Julie Saam, Scott Sheehan, Lisa
Stevens, Steve Tofaute, Ed Turi, Brian Watson
♦ Nurse: Stacy Eaton
Not only were we lucky to work with committed parents but we also we able to work with the exceptional
fifth grade team of teachers. Thank you Mrs. Jackson, Mr. Carter, Mrs. Stemnock, Miss Hume and Mr.
Vahle. Their student teachers, Miss Gray and Miss Mellinger were also very appreciated, as they jumped
right in and taught and chaperoned. We are also very grateful that Mrs. Wampler joined us on the trip.
A special thanks also to Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Pimentel, and Nurse Barb for administrative and medical support
during the weeks of preparation for camp.
Thank you, Mrs. Davis, for keeping the program alive for Woodbrook students!
