discover how your visit helps
make our mission possible
Every day our keepers show and tell facts and stories about
our amazing animals, that really bring every visit alive. Our free
encounters take place at animals’ exhibits.
What to do while you’re here
Feed the most ravenous of appetites
monday
We cater for a wide range of dietary requirements here
at the Zoo, so you’re sure to find something for the
fussiest of taste-buds at one of our four cafes.
Thanks!
You’ve just helped build a future for wildlife
by buying your ticket. That’s right –money
from ticket sales contribute to all the work
we do here at the Zoo, but also all around New
Zealand and overseas.
A great addition to your visit and a great way to learn
more about our amazing animals. See the schedule on
the right to see what’s on.
Go wild at WildZone gift shop
Be sure to drop in to WildZone before you leave,
it’s our wonderland of soft toys, educational games,
animal t-shirts, stationery and heaps more.
Adopt an animal
No need to leave empty-handed. Our super cute
Adopt an Animal crates come with a choice of soft toy
animals, plus a special certificate. Best of all, profits
go toward wildlife conservation. Get yours at
WildZone today.
Internationally, our focus is on six key
geographic regions: the Pacific Islands, Nepal,
South America, Sri Lanka, Sumatra and
southern Africa. In Africa for example, our
projects involve helping conserve rhinoceros,
cheetah and giraffe – species that are
threatened by the illegal wildlife trade, human
animal conflict and habitat loss.
So, our thanks once again. We couldn’t do it
without you!
An Auckland Zoo voucher for a day visit or an annual
membership is a winner every time.

Visit an animal encounter
We’re involved in a huge range of conservation
activities that are helping to save threatened
species. Every year, our staff spend over
10,000 hours helping conserve wildlife in the
wild. In addition, Auckland Zoo also provides
in-kind and financial support to conservation
partners and projects – to the value of
$1.4 million.
