The Lacrosse Nova Scotia Lobster Trap Tournament dates back to 1973 and has the most coveted trophy available at the midget level in lacrosse, a customized lobster trap. This year five teams participated in the Lobster Trap Tournament. Four teams from Nova Scotia (Dartmouth Bandits, Northwest Rebels, Southwest Hurricanes, Sackville Wolves), and the Okotoks Mustangs. The Okotoks travelled from Alberta and led the way all weekend culminating in a championship win on Sunday. For the 5th consecutive year the tournament unveiled a commemorative print entitled “Always at Play” and features player arriving at the Shannon Park Arena for the tournament. Painted by Janet Graham of Seagull Photo and Design the artwork encompasses the spirit of lacrosse, and the logos of all teams playing in this year‟s tournament. Jason, Tyler and Jordan Jayson Baxter from Breakfast Television joined referees Jordan Mills and Tyler Puddifant to learn some of the finer points of refereeing a lacrosse game.
