Ivan Vuksanovic
Ivan Vuksanovic was born in Belgrade Serbia on the 26th
September 1981. He took his first steps in the game
with the VK Partizan water polo school in his hometown.
He was transferred to VK Red Star in 1995. In the same
year he made his debut in the senior team and remained
with this club until the end of season 1998/1999. From
1999 to 2001 he played for Mladost from Becej. For the
following two seasons he played for Budvanska Rivijera
in waterpolo crazy Montenegro. In 2003 and 2004 he
returned to Belgrade with Red Star and was the top
scorer. In 2004 he moved to Italy with the waterpolo
club from Genoa, S.C.Quinto. His reputation as a
goalscorer was further enhanced. In season 2004/2005
he scored 38 goals in 15 matches. In the following
season he ended up as the third ranked on the top
scorers’ list with 58 goals. In 2006/2007, he was the top scorer
of the Italian A2 league – north with 64 goals. From 2007 to 2008 he was
back in Serbia with Red Star and they obtained the runner up position in the
Serbian League. Then Ivan decided to move abroad again, this time to Greece
with N.E.P. from Patra. In his first season, that is season 2008/2009, he
scored more than 50 goals and N.E.P. placed fourth in the Greek League. The
following season he played in the LEN Trophy and reached the quarter finals
where N.E.P. where narrowly beaten by Cattaro of Montenegro. In 2010,
Vuksanovic returned to Italy with Torino ’81 on a two year contract. He
managed to score more than 90 goals. In both seasons Torino ‘81 were
unlucky to miss out on promotion to the Italian A1.
During the season 2006/2007 Ivan opted for Macedonian citizenship and
immediately became a regular player in the Macedonian national water polo
team. With this team, he participated in the B European Championship held in
Manchester, United Kingdom, in the qualifications for the Olympic games in
Bratislava, Slovakia, in the European Championship in July 2008 in Malaga,
Spain, where Macedonia placed eighth, in the qualifications for the Olympic
games in Oradea and in the World Championships in Rome 2009, in the
qualifications for the A European Championship in Volos, Greece, and the
European Championship which took place in September 2010, in Zagreb,
Croatia. He also captained the Macedonian National Team in the European
Championship which took place in January 2012, in Eindhoven, the
Netherlands.
In 2012, Ivan Vuksanovic also obtained his coaching badges. Ivan is one of
the senior team players signed by Otters for season 2013.
Andrei Edward
Andrei Edward was born in Bucharest Romania on the 19th January 1975.
He started his senior playing career with
Rapid Bucharest in 1992. In 1996 he
moved to Dinamo Bucharest. In 1998 he
was signed by the famous team from
Montenegro, Primorac Kotor where he
played for two seasons. He returned to
Dinamo Bucharest and stayed for four
seasons, that is until he moved abroad
again, this time to Italy with RN Sori. In
2008 he was signed by the Greek team,
NC Chios. After playing for two seasons in
Greece he returned to RN Sori. In 2012 he
moved back to Romania with CS Sportul
Studenţesc of Bucharest.
Andrei Edward has been a star player of
the Romanian National Team for an
incredible number of years. He also
captained the National team up to 2009. He played in numerous
international competitions, including the Olympic Games in Atlanta in
1996 where Romania placed eleventh, the World Championships in 2004 in
Canada where Romania placed sixth, and the European Championships in
Belgrade where Romania finished fourth.
Andrei Edward is also a qualified waterpolo coach. In fact he has been
signed by Otters ASC as Player/Coach for season 2013.
Ionut Necsulescu
Ionut Necsulescu was born in Bucharest Romania on the 28th November
1985. He is 187 c.m. tall and weighs 87
kg. As a junior he played for Triumf
Bucuresti, with whom he won three
Junior National Titles. He played in all
junior categories of the Romanian
National Team and when he was still 17
years old he made his debut in the
senior team of Dinamo Bucharest. He
still plays for Dinamo Bucharest.
Necsulescu was signed by Otters ASC as
cover for Ivan Vuksanovic who had to
delay his arrival in Malta because his
team, Torino ’81, was dragged into the
Play Outs of the A 2 League in Italy.
