Not only some topics can be found in these series of
pictures such as fascination about publicity, the impact on
people who triumph in life and atmospheres full of mist,
music and chaos. But also, theatrical attitudes that some
main characters adopt in endless stories that are depicted
as trailers of films produced by Hollywood.
On the one hand, some of these images try to recall
drama plays, video-games scenes and posters about
concerts. All these images are connected with an
Occidental iconography which is full of symbols very
typical of a consumerism society. On the other hand,
some atmospheres are represented as full of Baroque
style where lights, shadows and arbitrary patches of colour
only are matched with a brush or spray tin. As a result,
these images pay homage to many unknown urban artists.
Consequently, the influence of eminent artists such as
Jean Michael Basquiat, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol or
Jeff Koons not only can be reflected in my works in order
to use some pictorial resources but also in the way I
nourish myself to exhibit some of the concepts using a
self-referential poetic as a via in which I become a
different character in order to cry, laugh and enjoy myself
as if I were an actor in one of my creations.
