Administering Medication Policy
Starting in Fall, 2015 Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation will no longer provide over-the-counter medications (e.g., Tylenol/Ibuprofen, antacid, Benadryl, Caladryl, burn gel and triple antibiotic ointment). If the parent or
guardian wants their student to have these they must bring the medication in an unopened container to the nurse and
complete the Request to Administer Medication to Student During the School Day form. The medication must
also include the student’s name and date of birth written on the package/box. Finally, the parent or guardian must
also sign a Permission to Treat form that allows the nurse to treat and administer the medication brought from
home. If you have any questions please contact your school nurse.

SAT and ACT
Juniors should plan on taking the SAT and/or the ACT by June of 2015. Counselors recommend students take each exam one time.
Students that plan on attending Ivy Tech or Vincennes University are not required to take the SAT or ACT, as these schools use their
own placement exams. (Both of these colleges will accept SAT and ACT scores if the student has taken these exams, but test
scores are not required for admission). In addition, some technical or proprietary schools do not require the SAT or ACT. If your
student is unsure of their future plans, it may be a good idea to take these tests just to keep doors open for next year.
Each test costs a fee. Students that qualify for the free or reduced lunch program or are an enrolled 21st Century Scholar can ask
their counselor for a fee waiver. With new Scholar Track requirements, all 21st Century Scholars are required to take the SAT or
ACT to be scholarship eligible.

FFA -
The following students competed this
weekend at the Indiana FCCLA state competition, for the first time ever. Each student received a medal for their project and
worked very hard the past few months to
put it together.
The FFA has had a very busy few months! In November our Crops team qualified for the State Competition at
Purdue University. Members who qualified were Emily Dougherty, Annie Hawkins, Eric Dougherty, Ethan
Dougherty, Simon Grills, and Jordan Roach. These members did an outstanding job representing our school and
community at the State Competition! In December, we participated in the United Way Adopt A Family Program
and provided Christmas gifts and supplies for a family in need.
