PRESIDENTS MESSAGE – Jerry Andres
Hi Rim Rock Roamers:
Well our first rally for the 2013 season is under our belts and with great success. We had six club families
attend the rally at the Fairview RV Park near Portland. Attending were the Ribble's, Kocina's, Peterson's,
D. Lehers, Fred Steele's and the Andres'. While we had a small group, we really enjoyed each other’s
company. Thanks to wagon master Jim Bushling for arranging such a nice venue.
Jinny and I had to leave a day early since we had a social obligation in Redmond on Saturday evening.
Home one day and then I was off to Scottsdale AZ. where I have a business assignment that will bring me
here occasionally. So much for retirement. Our next unofficial outing will be at the Silver Mountain Resort
in Kellogg, Idaho. Jinny and I are planning to be there to greet those coming back from the FMCA Rally in
Gillette, WY. Our next official RRR Rally will be in July in Tillamook, OR. We will have our first club
meeting of the year after breakfast on July 18th at that rally. If you have agenda items that you would like
to have addressed at this meeting, please get those to me by July 15.
I hope that this message finds everyone doing well. I did hear while at Fairview, that John Smallmon took
a nasty fall and let's all wish him a speedy recovery. Until next month…..

Fairview Host Report – Lorene Lehrer
RAIN, RAIN, RAIN and more RAIN! There were six coaches at Fairview, and we were thrilled to see
Chuck and Jackie Martin, Bob and Judy Lehrer and Jim and Darlene Crismon stop by for a visit. As usual
we had lots of laughs and great food. Hosts were Dick and Lorene Lehrer, assisted by Peter and Debbie
Ribble. We went to Wall Mart, some went to Fabric Outlet, and some left $$ at Camping World. We all
went out to dinner at Francis Xavier Restaurant. Good food, good friendship and good prices. All in all a
great time was had by all.. Hope to see all at the next rally.

Our September 11-14 outing at Seven Feathers (Canyonville, OR) requires some output from those
attending. Attached, please find a rate schedule if coming in early or staying after our rally. Costs to
attend the rally as a group are listed on the last page in our rally schedule. If we get 20 coaches, there is no
charge for the recreation/meeting room…so bring a friend. Also attached is a Group Member Form that
must be completed by those attending this rally. Please return the completed form and your remittance to
Treasurer Jinny Andres no later than August 1, 2013. THIS IS A MUST!! Please consider bringing a
friend to this rally and get the paperwork to Jinny ASAP. This is a beautiful RV Park. Check-In is 2:00
PM on 9/11/2013.
Gillette Caravan
Off to Gillette we go!! Three Rim Rock Roamers coaches are attending the 50th Anniversary of FMCA in
Gillette, WY. The Ribble’s and Martin’s are traveling together and will make stops in Yellowstone National
Park, Cody, WY and the Black Hills of South Dakota before hooking up with the Christensen’s to enter
Gillette for a fun filled rally. Should be lots of fun, with several of the founding fathers of FMCA, from 50
years ago, scheduled to attend. Just seeing some of the older “house cars” as the RV’s were called should
be quite a treat. There will be a Nostalgia Room, where folks will share their RV experiences throughout
the last 50 years.
My, how the organization has changed (and will change into the future.) We promise to bring back plenty
of photos and some interesting stories of our travels to and from the event, including the event itself.
What you get out of FMCA and/or the Rim Rock Roamers
Like most everything else in life, what you get out of a group or activity is directly proportional to what
you put into it. FMCA is a member driven organization whose main purpose is to enhance the RV
experience of its membership. With nearly 80,000 member coaches in the USA and Canada, FMCA has
been promoting the RV lifestyle for over 50 years. With 445 active Chapters, encompassing all sorts of
special interests, FMCA is truly a fascinating organization.
Each FMCA Chapter has a National Director, who is the individual who represents the Chapters interests
and concerns to the FMCA Governing Board, consisting of similar representatives from the other active
Chapters. Meeting every two years at an International Convention, the Governing Board manages the
finance, governance and future direction of FMCA. While FMCA has an Executive Director and
associated staff, they all serve at the pleasure of the Governing Board. The Governing Board elects your
National Officers and the Area FMCA Chapters elect their Area Vice Presidents.
Can you identify this individual, RV
type, vehicle and year taken ??

Planning Meeting – Duties in August
We are finished with the final Planning Meeting for the August NW Area FMCA rally at the Linn County
Fair and Expo Center in Albany. The Rim Rock Roamers will be producing and distributing the Welcome
Packets at the event. Debbie Ribble is the Chair Person and would appreciate a note or call if you can help
us with the task. Like most of the things we volunteer for, we get our work done before the rally starts and
then kick back and enjoy the event. Many hands make light work….and we get to meet many of our fellow
RV’ers.
Get Well Soon!
Get well wishes to Sharon Peterson who recently had a little “repair work” done. Looking forward to
seeing you up and around shortly.
Jim and Pat Bushling
We are back in Central Oregon and ready for summer. Winter in Arizona for seven months was very good
with lots of golf. We look forward to our northwest travels. Pat had cataract eye surgery and is enjoying
much better vision. Please make every attempt to join Rim Rock Roamers members in our 2013 outings.
RV Repair and/or Tips
 Before you hook up your water hose to the faucet in the RV Park, flow the faucet to get rid of
“critters” and debris that may live in the faucet opening. This may prolong the life of your
water filter and help avoid some unpleasant tastes in your water.
 ALWAYS insure that the correct circuit breaker is in the OFF POSITION before plugging into
or removing your power connection at the pedestal. (Helps avoid arcing and power surges)
 When dumping your grey and black tanks (with sewer hose connected)…..lubricate your hose
by opening the grey drain first, close after 5 seconds….dump your black tank….flush out hose
by finishing off the dumping of your grey tank.
