Dear Math, please grow up and solve
your own problems, I’m tired of solving
them for you.
—————————————————I always try to cheer myself up by singing when I get sad. Most of the time,
however, it turns out that my voice is
worse than my problems.
—————————————————They say love is more important than
money, but have you ever tried to pay
your bills with a hug?
—————————————————I consider myself a crayon. I might not
be your favorite color but one day you’ll
need me to complete your picture.
—————————————————When I said I cleaned my room, I
meant I made a path from the doorway
to my bed.

I know the voices in my head aren’t
real but sometimes their ideas are just
absolutely awesome.
—————————————————In the morning you beg to sleep more,
in the afternoon you are dying for a
nap, at night you refuse to sleep.
—————————————————The first question an Albertan asked
the tour guide, when they approached
the Eiffel Tower, was “How many barrels a day does it produce?”
—————————————————-

Somebody in Canada started a contest
to come up with a saying analogous to
“As American as Apple Pie.” The idea
was to finish this sentence: “As Canadian as…”
The winner: “ As Canadian as possible
under the circumstances.”

FUN PAPE—Creston’s most read free paper
Little Nancy was in the garden filling in
a hole when her neighbor peered over
the fence. Interested in what the
cheeky-faced youngster was up to, he
politely asked, “What are you up to
there, Nancy?” “My goldfish died,” replied Nancy tearfully, without looking
up, “and I’ve just buried him.” The
neighbor was concerned, “That’s an
awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn’t it?”
Nancy patted down the last heap o
earth then replied, “That’s because
he’s inside your cat.”
—————————————————The original name for Canada,
dreamed up by a parliamentary committee in London, was “Cold North Dominion,” but that was too long, so they
abbreviated it C.N.D. The King’s Royal
Governor presented the new name to
the inhabitants, and they didn’t say a
word. They just looked at him. “Well,
what do you think?” asked the Royal
Governor. “C.,eh?” said the first fellow.
“N.,eh?” says the second guy. “D.,eh?”
says the third one. Then silence. “Hey,”
says the Governor. “I like that. It’s a lot
easier to pronounce when you spell it
that way.” So that’s how Canada got
it’s name.

Things You Never Knew About Words
♦ Around half of all written material
in English is made up of the 100
most commonly used words.
♦ Shakespeare used 28,829 different words in all his plays.
♦ More English words begin with the
letter “S” than any other letter in
the alphabet.
♦ The words most frequently used in
spoken English are “I”, “you” and
“the”.
♦ In written English, the top three are
“the”, “of” and “and.
♦ Around 20% of the words in the
Oxford English Dictionary are
listed as “obsolete.”
♦ The Oxford English Dictionary lists
645 senses of the verb “run” making it the longest single entry in the
entire work.
—————————————————A pilot landed a plane with a rather
bumpy landing. As part of his job he
was required to stand by the terminal
door and say goodbye to the passengers as they exited the airplane. He
was afraid that someone might say
something about his rather less than
perfect landing, but everyone left without saying a word except for one passenger, an elderly lady. She slowly
approached the pilot after most passengers had exited the plane and
asked, “Did we land? Or were we shot
down?”
—————————————————Canadians don’t deal with the same
kind of health care problems and traumas as in the US. The Canadian
health care system is based on treating hockey injuries and curing sinus
infections that come from trying to pronounce French
vowels.

An Englishman, a Canadian and an
American were captured by terrorists.
The terrorist leader said, “Before we
shoot you, you will be allowed last
words. Please let me know what you
wish to talk about.” The Englishman
replied, “I wish to speak of loyalty and
service to the crown.” The Canadian
replied, “Since you are involved in a
question of national purpose, national
identity, and secession, I wish to talk
about the history of constitutional process in Canada, special status, distinct
society and uniqueness within diversity.” The American replied, “Just shoot
me before the Canadian starts talking.”

What is a Canadian?
A Canadian is a fellow wearing English
tweeds, a Hong Kong shirt and Spanish shoes, who sips Brazilian coffee
sweetened with Philippine sugar from a
Bavarian cup while nibbling Swiss
cheese, sitting at a Danish desk over a
Persian rug, after coming home in a
German car from an Italian
movie….and then writes his Member of
parliament with a Japanese ballpoint
pen on French paper, demanding that
he do something about foreigners taking away our Canadian jobs.

Hudson’s Bay is certainly a country
that Sinbad the Sailor never saw, as he
makes no mention of mosquitoes.
—————————————————I am a Canadian, free to speak without
fear, free to worship in my own way,
free to stand for what I think right, free
to oppose what I believe wrong, or free
to choose those who shall govern my
country. This heritage of freedom I
pledge to uphold for myself and all
mankind.

The strong young man at the construction site was bragging that he could
outdo anyone in a feat of strength. He
made a special case of making fun of
one of the older workmen. After several
minutes, the older worker had had
enough. “Why don’t you put your
money where your mouth is?” he said.
“I will bet you a week’s wages that I can
haul something in a wheelbarrow over
to that outbuilding that you won’t be
able to wheel back.” “You’re on, old
man,” the braggart replied. “Let’s see
what you got.” The old man reached
out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by
the handles. Then, nodding to the
young man, he said, “All right, get in.”
