Over breakfast one morning, a woman
said to her husband, “I bet you don’t
know what day this is?” “Of course I
do,” he indignantly answered, going
out the door on his way to the office. At
10am, the doorbell rang, and when the
woman opened the door, she was
handed a box containing a dozen long
stemmed red roses. At 1pm, a foil
wrapped, two pound box of her favorite
chocolates arrived. Later, a boutique
delivered a designer dress. The
woman couldn’t wait for her husband to
come home. “First the flowers, then the
candy, and then the dress!” she exclaimed. “I’ve never spent a more wonderful Groundhog Day in my whole
life!”

Answer to Rebus Puzzle
Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t. You know the
month, the year, the day of the week.
There is a clock on your wall, in your
car, and of course your cell phone.
You have a schedule, a calendar, a
time for dinner or a movie. Yet all
around you, timekeeping is ignored.
Birds are not late. A dog does not
check its watch. Deer do not fret over
passing birthdays. Man alone measures time. Man alone chimes the hour.
And, because of this, man alone suffers a paralyzing fear that no other
creature endures. A fear of time running out.

Rebus Puzzle
A rebus is a picture representation
of a name, word or phrase.
The puzzle below portrays a common
word or phrase.
Can you guess what it is?
A Walk to School
A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He
didn’t want his mother to walk with
him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence
but yet know that he was safe. So she
had an idea of how to handle it. She
asked a neighbor if she would please
follow him to school in the mornings,
staying at a distance, so he probably
wouldn’t notice her. She said that
since she was up early with her toddler
anyway, it would be a good way for
them to get some exercise as well, so
she agreed. The next school day, the
neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to
school with another neighbor girl he
knew. She did this for the whole week.
As the two walked and chatted, kicking
stones and twigs, Timmy’s little friend
noticed the same lady was following
them as she seemed to do every day
all week. Finally she said to Timmy,
“Have you noticed that lady following
us to school all week? Do you know
her”

Vaccinations are an important part of keeping your dog
happy and healthy.
In Creston and the surrounding areas we have seen deadly virus’
and diseases take dogs lives, that could have been prevented by
vaccination. In this issue we’ll discuss Parvovirus– an acute highly
contagious disease of canines. Symptoms include: vomiting, diarrhea
(usually with mucus and blood), depression, fever, dehydration, and
death, if not treated promptly. Treatment is costly and includes hospitalization, intravenous fluids, electrolytes, antibiotics, anti-nausea
medications, and special food. Prevention is key!
Throughout the month of June receive 10% off annual exams, DAP, Rabies and
Bordetella vaccines for your dog. Ask about our Client Loyalty Discount.
SUMMER PET SAFETY TIPS: Part 1 (part 2 next issue)
Be sure to give access to plenty of fresh water and shade.
Do not leave pets in vehicle as they can overheat. (vehicles heat up fast even with windows cracked)
Careful of sunburn. Provide sunscreen or shade (especially light colored or short haired pets)
Beware of antifreeze poisoning.
