Hand picking, whole grape pressing, and fermentation and ageing in oak barrels

Château de Cruzeau White 2014
Vintage 2014
Wine style :
Tender and Aromatic
Weather :
Winter and spring were very mild, but the summer of 2014 did not live up to our expectations: it
rained heavily in July, and August was much cooler than usual. However, starting in September, a
miraculous Indian summer with high temperatures, was very favourable to ripening.
Grape blend :
Sauvignon blanc 100%
Oenologist consultant :
Denis DUBOURDIEU (Professor at the Institut d'Œnologie of Bordeaux) and Valérie LAVIGNE.
Tasting Comment
Appareance :
Lovely, clear, very pale yellow colour with green highlights.
Nose :
Refined well-focused nose revealing ripe fruit aromas of white peach,
nectarine, and lemon zest when swirled in the glass.
Mouth :
Very pleasant thanks to an attractive richness and good body tempered by
subtle acidity. Ripe fruit once again on the palate, accompanied by hints of
grapefruit, pineapple, etc. The aftertaste shows some smoky overtones.
This wine's elegance matches fish dishes beautifully.

En Primeur 2014 - Nose of white fruit. Very crisp on the palate with good minerality. Fairly
elegant, with good fruit and a salty flavour. (Jacques Dupont)
eRobertParker.com : 04.05.2015 - Note : from 88.00 to 90.00 / 100
The Château Cruzeau Blanc 2014 has an attractive bouquet, the oak nicely integrated here with
light hazelnut and citrus scents. The palate is fresh on the entry with good weight, a slight
creaminess to the texture with a touch of tangy marmalade to finish things off. This has good
potential and will provide pleasurable drinking over several years. (Neal Martin)
Le Figaro : 01.05.2015 - Note : 14.00 / 20
A straightforward, honest Sauvignon Blanc in a lighter style.
Decanter : 13.04.2015 - Note : 86.00 / 100
Apricot and white flowers on the nose, even soft roses, fresh acidity, heading to sour but kept on
the right side by a lovely fleshy mid-palate helped by regular lees stirring. This is 100% Sauvignon
Blanc. Drink: 2015-2019. (Jane Anson)
