CItadel CapItal FInanCIal servICes Center Shaping the Future of Investment in Egypt Message FroM the dIreCtor Since its inauguration in 2006, the Citadel Capital Financial Services Center (CCFC) has strived to take a leading role in enhancing the delivery of financial education by offering students, researchers and market professionals an exciting state-of-the-art instructional facility that integrates hands-on financial services practice into financial concepts. Our role has encompassed designing and delivering innovative activities, workshops, competitions and training programs that contribute to developing individuals with strong financial and analytical skills. We are proud to announce that more than 1,000 AUC students, faculty and staff members, alumni and professionals have benefited from our resources and services over the past five years. In partnership with internationally recognized business information and training providers, we have focused on offering student-centered activities, which augment the finance curriculum and pave the way for our students to begin their careers in the financial services industry. It has been a core part of our mission to promote CCFC as an integral part of every student’s academic life. Our priorities have also involved creating a supportive research environment, bustling with eager students and keen faculty members, by providing researchers in search of the latest financial and economic data with access to worldstandard financial databases. During the coming period, we will continue extending our imperative educational goal of creating an innovative and interactive learning environment to develop future market leaders and enhance the know how of finanace professionals. FInanCIal servICes CCFC offers its services to three main categories of users: students, faculty members and business executives. The center focuses on providing trading education and simulation, world-class research opportunities as well as training courses. StudEntS • Mini-classes to assist students in using and understanding financial technology and databases • Interactive trading sessions to help students construct informed and well-researched investment portfolios • Sponsorship of AUC’s Finance and Investment Club stock market index • CCFC Student Academy, which offers Reuters certification, among other technical courses • CCFC Corporate Finance Competition • Special events including: • Guest lectures • Workshops covering practical and theoretical issues • Advanced placement services Faculty and RESEaRchERS • Data and software facilities to assist faculty members and students with their research • Permanent lab assistants to help faculty members Professionals • Standard and customized financial training programs that aim to improve performance and enhance the know-how of finance professionals InItIatIves and MIlestones • Weekly and quarterly newsletters covering local, regional and international market performance as well as Egyptian capital markets, respectively • The CCFC internship program, which allows students to gain further knowledge on relevant software and databases, to serve as faculty and laboratory assistants • Reuters Certification Program, which provides participants with the opportunity to become certified Reuters users • In partnership with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), CCFC offers certification-training courses on the topics of risk in financial services and corporate finance as preparation for the CISI exam, which provides CISI certification in the same areas • The Financial Analysis and Risk Management for Microfinance Diploma, a training course offered to microfinance professionals and practitioners • CCFC Student Academy, which provides students with financial training programs and activities • CCFC Annual Corporate Finance Competition, which provides participants with the opportunity to conduct a full-fledged valuation of a listed Egyptian company advIsory Board CCFC is proud to have some of Egypt’s most prominent finance professionals as members of its advisory board.
