Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!
Congregational Prayer (unison): Almighty God, who has given your Son
a kingdom; that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him:
Make us loyal followers of our Risen and Living Lord, that we would
always hear his word, obey his commands, and live according to his
Spirit. Hasten the day when every knee shall bow and every tongue
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of your everlasting name.
Amen.

Presenters:
Receive the Word of God.
Learn its stories and study its words.
Its stories belong to us all, and these words speak to us all.
They tell us who we are.
They tell us that we belong to one another,
for we are the people of God.
Children respond:
We receive these Bibles with our hands, our hearts, and our minds.
Thank you.
We will read and study the Bible together.
Congregation to children:
We rejoice in this step in your journey with God.
We pray God will guide you, your family, and us
as you use this Holy Bible in your home,
in your church school classes, and in our worship.
We will learn together and grow in our love for God’s Word.
Pastoral Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
(Hymnal, no. 895)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass
against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For
thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Hymn

The Spirit Sends Us Forth to Serve
**(During the 2nd verse, children 3rd grade & under are dismissed to

Message
“THE GOSPEL AND THE NATIONS AMONG US”
Kevin King
* The Affirmation of Faith
(from 1 Timothy 2:5-6, 1:15, 3:16; Hymnal no. 889)
Leader: There is one God
and there is one mediator, Christ Jesus,
who came as a ransom for all,
to whom we testify.
People: This saying is sure
and worthy of full acceptance:
That Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners,
and was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated in the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among the nations,
believed in throughout the world,
taken up in glory.
Great indeed is the mystery of the gospel. Amen.

PRAISE MUSIC LYRICS
I Can Only Imagine
I can only imagine, what it will be like
When I walk, by your side
I can only imagine, what my eyes will see
When your face, is before me.
I can only imagine. I can only imagine.
Chorus:
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine. I can only imagine
I can only imagine, when that day comes
And I find myself, standing in the Son
I can only imagine, when all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You.
I can only imagine. I can only imagine.
Chorus
Ancient Words
Holy words, long preserved, for our work in this world;
they resound with God's own heart, O let the ancient words impart;
Words of life, words of hope, give us strength, help us cope;
In this world where e’er we roam, ancient words will guide us home.
Chorus
Ancient words ever true, changing me and changing you;
We have come with open hearts, O let the ancient words impart.
Holy words of our faith handed down to this age,
Came to us through sacrifice; O heed the faithful words of Christ.
Holy words long preserved for our walk in this world;
They resound with God’s own heart; O let the ancient words impart.
Everlasting God
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord.
We will wait upon the Lord. We will wait upon the Lord.
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord.
We will wait upon the Lord. We will wait upon the Lord.
Our God, You reign forever. Our hope, our Strong Deliverer.
You are the everlasting God, the everlasting God.
You do not faint. You won't grow weary.
You're the defender of the weak, You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles.

We are delighted to announce the launch of our NEW “young adult” Sunday
school class, and we are eager for new folks to join us! We are starting out by
studying individuals in the Bible—making connections between their lives
and ours. (By the way, we have a broad definition of the term “Young Adult,”
so please let Pastor Joe ([email protected]), John Sedunov
([email protected]), or Elizabeth Sedunov ([email protected])
know if you are interested or have questions!)

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
Our mission on Sunday mornings is to learn about the Bible
as we enjoy each other's fellowship. We are fortunate to have
some Bible Scholars in our midst who have volunteered to
share their wisdom. We enjoy a section each week called,
"who knew" where we do on-the-spot searches (via Google,
etc.) of any questions we have. We love finding out new
Bible facts and insights! This month, our leaders will be the
DiPaolo sisters, Christy and Laura. Please join us in the top
floor library during Sunday school hour for our classes!

Our stewardship, our giving, is a reflective response to God’s grace in our
lives. Giving is a response of the heart which allows us to do God’s work here
on earth, in gratitude for all He has done for us. Giving also allows WUMC
to sustain our beautiful worship surroundings and the plethora of Christcentered activities which take place here. As members of WUMC, we promise
to support God’s work in Wayne through our attendance, our time and our
offerings. Following is a snapshot of our weekly numbers toward that end:
