S t. Patrick School Newsletter ...Laying the foundation for bright and faith-filled futures. Color the World With God’s Love Volume VI Principal Priorities by Dr. Richard J. Wede • Parents/Guardians—Attached to this newsletter is the fourth of a five-part series of parent NewsNotes from the Office for the Protection of Children from the Archdiocese of Dubuque. The purpose of these publications is to help all of us be more informed of the issues and topics related to the abuse of children. It is our sincere hope that by partnering together we can continually provide the safest possible environment for all our young people to grow into healthy, Christ-filled adults. Future NewsNotes will be distributed during the months of January and February. Additional resources can be found at the Virtus website at http:// and at the school’s website www.virtusonline.org http://www.stpatswaukon.com • Scrip—Almost Too Good To Be True—We have all been advised to be cautious if something appears to be too good to be true, but we have also been told there is almost always an exception to the rule. Scrip is that exception!! When you purchase Scrip, you are purchasing the store’s gift card or local Scrip at full value. The stores are providing the gift cards to the school at a discounted price. The School Board has a policy in place that returns 1.5% of the amount of Scrip you purchase to be used for school tuition/fees or for religious education fees for parish members. During the 4th Quarter of 2010, parents received over $1,800 in tuition/fee credits. Over 75% of the parents received some credit. Wouldn’t it be great if this quarter 100% participated!! And, remember friends and relatives may purchase Scrip and designate the credit to your family account. • Building Campaign—Thank you to everyone who has donated to the school building campaign. As a result of everyone’s efforts, over $175,000 has been donated and/or pledged thus far. That is over 68% of the goal! Thank you!! • Tuition Tax Credit Information—Please contact Becky at school (568.2170) or Sandi at the Rectory (568.3671) if you need the Tuition Tax Credit form for filing of your Iowa Income Tax.. We will collect the information you need and send home a copy of the completed form for your use in filing and for your records.
