S t. Patrick School Newsletter ...Laying the foundation for bright and faith-filled futures. Go Wild for God!! Volume V Principal Priorities by Dr. Richard J. Wede • Catholic Schools Week—Catholic School Week is Sunday, January 29—Saturday, February 4 this year. The theme is • • • At St. Patrick School, we work to achieve excellence in our faith, academics, and service to our school, parish, and community each and every day. During that week we plan to have many activities to highlight our Catholic education. One of the activities will be the celebration of Mass at Luther College on Tuesday, January 31st, with the other NE Iowa Catholic Schools. The Mass will be at 10:00 in the Faith and Life Center. Weather Cancellations—Remember that St. Patrick School follows Allamakee Community School regarding weather delays. The announcements are made on KNEI, KVIK, KWWL-TV, and KCRG-TV. You may also sign up for the ACSD Snow Alerts. Just go to the Allamakee Community School District webpage (www.allamakee.k12.ia.us) or you can find the link on our website stpatswaukon.com If school has a late start due to winter weather, we do NOT have morning Latchkey and if school is dismissed early due to inclement weather, we do NOT have afternoon Latchkey. Recess in the Winter Months—Parents, please remember that students need snow boots and snow pants for recesses. Although we have had little snow, it is Iowa and I am sure that January will bring the white stuff. Parent Group Bake Sale—Thank you to everyone who supported the bake sale at the Christmas concerts this year, whether it was a donated item(s) or purchasing items. The Parents Group raised $775 to support activities at St. Patrick School. SAVE THE DATES January 28th—Mardi Gras at Waukon Reception Center February 2nd—Parents Group Chili Supper and Auction Both are great activities and provide additional financial support of our school—helping to maintain affordable tuition for everyone.
