Childress, numerous Cochrans, Lights, Scotts, Spanglers, and Webbs. Materials recovered from Mayberry Church cornerstone in 1975 recorded a meeting at the new Mayberry School House in 1924, a meeting that marked the beginning of Mayberry Church:”During the summer months much interest was shown in the Lord’s work, and in July, after a revival meeting, it was unanimously decided by the congregation that there must be a church building and a church organization in Mayberry.” The first officers of Mayberry Presbyterian Church were elders D.
