Winter 2015 SERVICE CREDIT UNION NO FEE CHECKING SERVICE CREDIT UNION’S EXCLUSIVE INTERNATIONAL BILL PAY OFFERED IN ITALY Service Credit Union launched its No Fee Checking Account with no transaction and maintenance fees in early January. The new account can be opened at any branch, online or by phone. Service Credit Union members in Italy can take advantage of an exclusive online service, International Bill Pay. This online-only feature enables members to initiate transfers from their Service Credit Union checking account to European banks in Euro, Swiss Franc, British Pound, Japanese Yen and Canadian Dollar currencies. The account features no maintenance or transaction fees including no monthly, stop payment, online bill pay, returned item or denial fees. Saving Transfer Overdraft Protection and card replacement fees are also waived. No minimum balance is required. E-statements are required and paper checks are not available. The credit union featured its new checking account as part of its “Zero. Zip. Nada.” marketing campaign, also unveiled in January. “We have offered a new option for checking, one with no fees. Anyone in the military can join Service Credit Union, and then they can pay bills in the five foreign currencies across more than 30 countries. International Bill Pay is available through Service Credit Union’s online banking site and through its mobile web site by keying in mobile.servicecu.org. Service Credit Union’s online International Bill Pay is an easy-to-use service which automatically converts from those five currencies to U.S. dollars. Air Force Ball Saturday, September 13, 2014 Service Credit Union sponsored the 2014 Air Force Ball at Spangdahlem Air Base. This event fostered a healthy and formal atmosphere for Airmen to enjoy dining and socializing with their peers, colleagues and special guests while at the same time celebrating the US Air Force. 50th Annual Ramstein Bazaar Thursday, September 18, 2014 This is Ramstein Air Base’s largest event of the year, and featured over 140 vendors from throughout Europe, great food, and a public drawing. The Welfare Bazaar was hosted by the Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club (ROSC) who use the proceeds to give back to the community. College Night Thursday, October 2, 2014 Representatives from over 110 universities, colleges and educational organizations based out of the U.S. and Europe helped 1,600 students to learn about different programs and options available after high school. This event was held at Rhine Ordinance Barracks and hosted by USAG Kaiserslautern & MWR and Kaiserslautern High School. College Night- Stuttgart Patch and Panzer Friday, October 3, 2014 Stuttgart High School students had the opportunity to speak with representatives and alumni from colleges around the world. This event offered valuable information regarding school programs and academics, college admissions, budgeting and financial aid. Retiree Appreciation DayRamstein Air Base Wednesday, October 15, 2014 This event provides important information to military retirees and their families on products and services available to them on base. C O M M U N I T Y 2014 International Credit Union (ICU) Day Thursday, October 16, 2014 Thanks for Thanksgiving Saturday, November 22, 2014 This day has been historically celebrated on the 3rd Thursday of October since 1948. On this day we recognize the credit union movement and history. This year’s ICU Day theme was Local Service. Global Good. Service Credit Union provided cake and refreshment at all overseas branch offices to bring awareness to this important day. Service Credit Union donated gift cards and monetary funding this Thanksgiving season to approximately 700 families in the Kaiserslautern Military community. Along with the gift cards, each recipient received a turkey donated by Service Credit Union. Service Credit Union’s Vice Presidents were on-site to donate the Visa gift cards and turkeys to the USO. Red Ribbon Run- Sembach Thanksgiving Gift Cards Sunday, October 19, 2014 More than 1,000 families received a $25 gift card distributed by each branch manager through their on-base liaison. Every year the Red Ribbon Run/Walk kicks off the beginning of Red Ribbon Week, which encourages people to take a stand against drugs and alcohol. Service Credit Union encouraged all ages to come out and enjoy presentations, a ceremonial cake cutting, color guard presentations, informational booths and more. Holiday Bazaar Friday, October 31 – Sunday, November 2, 2014 The Holiday Bazaar held at Rhein Ordinance Barracks and hosted by USAG Kaiserslautern MWR. The event is open to all I.D. Card holders, and more than 3,000 people came out to visit and shop at one of the largest bazaars in Germany. More than 100 vendors from around the world sold everything from antiques, jewelry, fine wines, cheese, leather goods, toys, kitchenware and much more. Job Fair- Vogelweh Tuesday, November 18, 2014 This job fair not only offered job seekers another venue to connect with prospective employers, but also an opportunity to learn of programs that enhance skills needed to reach their career goals. Service Credit Union was on-site to advertise job vacancies and answer questions regarding employment with Service Credit Union. Stuttgart Holiday FestivalStuttgart Patch and Panzer Friday, November 21, 2014 The annual Winterfest celebration event kicked-off the 2014 holiday season in the Stuttgart military community. This event was attended by 3,000 people. The festival featured 35 vendors from around Europe and had something to offer everyone. Service Credit Union was on site with a booth distributing winter giveaways. Candy Cane Lane – KMCC and Ramstein Southside Saturday, December 6, 2014 Service Credit Union partnered with 86FSS to provide children an opportunity to take a photo with Santa Claus. The photo was printed on-site and a decorative frame and envelope was provided to each child. Santa In-Branch Visit Tuesday, December 9, 2014 The local Santa Claus volunteered to visit the Grafenwoehr Branch and take photos. Santa gave Service Credit Union presents to all of the children during his in-branch visit. Breakfast with Santa Saturday, December 20, 2014 Service Credit Union sponsored the Breakfast with Santa event on Vogelweh. This event was free to all deployed families. Parents were encouraged to bring their camera for a photo op with Santa. There were crafts, food and face painting for this morale boosting event. USO Christmas Dinner Thursday, December 25, 2014 Service Credit Union understands how difficult it is to be away from during the Holidays. Service Credit Union and the USO teamed up and provided Christmas Dinner in Grafenwoehr to all Soldiers and their families this Holiday season.
