TSW celebrates two years without
LTI/RWC on Hoist Operations
THE Well Engineering and Well Services department (TSW) achieved
a milestone in safety performance when the department successfully
achieved two years without loss time injury (LTI)/ recordable work
case on its hoist operations on 1 November 2006.
Staff from TSW and hoist personnel as well as management from its
contractor, Joffren Omar Sdn Bhd, gathered at Wellsite S-363 at the E/12
area in Panaga to commemorate this achievement
At the event, Head of Well Engineering and Well Services, Harrie Krus
presented safety plaques to staff and contractors who worked hard towards
this achievement. Harrie took great pride and said, “The importance of this
achievement is enormous because you have done something different from
other rigs and that is to ensure the highest level of safety in your operations.”
He added, “You have been able to achieve two years without a recordable
case, which is fantastic, and it does not matter that the operation
is a bit smaller than the other ones as you still have a lot of
exposure. You have to move the rig everytime, and everyday
you are doing something which is a little bit different, as in
non-routine operations, and still you manage to do it all in a
very safe manner and that is something to be very proud of ”.
Lastly Harry emphasised, “Safety is very important
because we do not want anybody hurt. People are important
and the happier they are, the better their performance. You move
so often, you do so many wells, and this is contributing to the
production of BSP. This is important, because otherwise we
cannot have sustainability and your efforts to have good
performance, to do the work as good as you can, helps in that respect”.
Belait Shipping Company achieved
400,000 hours without LTI
Pg Haji Yasmin Pg Haji Mohamad presents the
safety award to Pg Haji Hassan Pg Zahari
Later, Pg Haji Yasmin stressed the need for all parties to be proactive at all
times and continue to work together. He also took the opportunity to remind all
contractors that they must continue to comply with guidelines not only set out by
BSM but also by Shell regionally and globally.
In April 2001, the BSC was awarded a contract to deliver clean products to
BSM filling stations in Brunei Riverine and Temburong via its Motor Tanker, Belait
Surita (BS) and up to April this year, no mishap or injuries has been reported.
This is a proud achievement by the BSC where the company was able to reduce
and completely avoid incidents due to the enormous help and support from BSM as
well as through compliance to safety.
BS is the only one of its kind in Borneo, which has retractable bridge that
enables her to traverse deep into various Brunei Rivers. She is also the first of her
kind from this region to receive formal HSE-MS audits status from Shell Marine
advisor for her class of vessel.
BSM places high priority on the Health, Safety, Security and Environment
(HSSE) aspects of it’s operations. By nature, oil and gas are hazardous and BSM has
stringent regulations to ensure the safety of the people in the area as well as the
integrity of the terminal. In April this year, BSM achieved another year without LostTime Injury among its staff and contractors, making it five years in a row.
BRUNEI Shell Marketing Co Sdn Bhd (BSM)
presented the Belait Shipping Company (B) Sdn
Bhd (BSC) with a safety award for achieving
400,000 hours without loss time injury (LTI) held
at the BSM Terminal in Muara on 15 November
2006
The award was presented by Pg Haji Yasmin Pg
Hj Mohamad, the Managing Director of BSM who
attended the event as the guest of honour, to the
Managing Director of Belait Shipping Company (BSC),
Pg Haji Hassan Pg Zahari . The event was attended by
staff from both BSM and BSC and the crew members
of Belait Surita (BS).
In his welcoming remarks, Pg Haji Hassan said
that the BSC is actively and continuously seeking ways
to improve their services by working closely with the
relevant organisations and authorities, be it in Brunei
or globally.
The Belait Surita, is the first vessel in its class in the region, to receive formal
HSE-MS audit status from Shell Marine

BSP MD’s Desk
Dear Colleagues,
I have received positive feedback from many of you on
the company’s stepped-up efforts to further improve driving
standards and to encourage safe driving habits to be entrenched
among our staff, business partners and families. Thank you
indeed.
I hope you will continue to consciously adhere to the 5point actions for safe driving all the time and for as long as you
drive:
• always wear your seatbelt and ensure everyone,
including children, do the same.
• never exceed the speed limit
• never use the mobile phone, including hands-free
sets, when driving
• do not drive too close to the car in front
• do not overtake another vehicle unless you really
must and, if you must, be extremely careful, as this
is the most dangerous manoeuvre you can make
As you are aware, it is not enough that just you and I
drive safely while other road users don’t. Please also do your
part in spreading this 5-point message to people under your
care and also to people whom you can influence. Our challenge
is to help ensure that safe driving is instilled within us
individually as a life-long habit, and to play our social obligation
in bringing about the same change among people whom we
feel responsible for.
In recognizing this challenge, I am pleased to announce
that we shall also broaden our work towards the wider
community by supporting the Government’s initiatives to
reduce road accidents at the national level. We are partnering
with the National Road Safety Council (NRSC) to launch a
National Road Safety Campaign soon. Going by the energetic
response by staff so far, I know that I can count on your
commitment to make this Campaign a tremendous success.
Our focus on road safety is part of our continuing drive
to eliminate unsafe practices at our workplace, which in turn is
integral to our number one, overriding priority: safety. Up to
end October we have had 17 reportable cases, equivalent to
0.91 TRCF (Total Recordable Case Frequency). This is slightly
below our target of 0.8 TRCF. If we can all together pledge to
ensure that there are no further reportable cases for the
remaining two months of the year, we can achieve our safety
target for the year. I would like to urge you to make this happen
and I know you can do it.
We are on track to achieve 5 million man-hours TRC
(Total Recordable Case) free by end of this year. We have
achieved 5 million man-hours TRC free before in 2005. We
can certainly meet this target this year, provided in the remaining
weeks ahead we exercise the highest level of vigilance, and
unfailingly practice ‘safety as our number one priority’ without
exception, at all times at our workplace.
To achieve our safety target should not be difficult. All
we have got to do is to rigorously stick to the three safety
principles, which we have adopted: Compliance, Intervention
and Attitude, no matter what the circumstances may be. And
in not hesitating to provide leadership by being personally
accountable for safety under our watch.
I look forward to your continuing and utmost
commitment to safety. Please don’t forget
to share the 5-point actions for safe
driving with your family and friends.
Lastly, do continue to feed back
directly to me, and I shall respond
personally to you.
Best Regards
Drilling begins for Peragam-4 and
SMRNF-C1 exploration wells
to the requirement for Brunei to have sufficient gas reserves to extend the current
gas sales agreement. The strategy timeline is now on track with the spudding of the
Peragam-4.
Speaking further on this, Gijs added, “Peragam-4 represents the third
commitment well in the first/ second Offshore for BSP in the 2004 -2006 period.
This represents, together with Seria-857, which is the ninth exploration well in the
Onshore concession in the 2004 -2006 period, a reflection of the revival of
exploration in BSP and therefore in Brunei. This is all driven by BSP’s objective to
find sufficient oil and gas volumes to ensure Brunei’s future as a significant
hydrocarbon producing country.”
The blessing ceremony then took place with a recital of the ‘doa’ to bless the
two exploration wells. Guests, including officers from the Petroleum Unit and
government officials from various Ministries, were later invited to view a poster
exhibition highlighting the drilling operations that will take place on the two
exploration wells.

Exhibition to
promote energy
conservation
ENERGY conservation was the main topic of discussion at this year’s Brunei Energy
Association (BEnA) exhibition 2006.
The three-day exhibition was held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) on 24
November 2006 and carried the theme “Providing a Platform for Sustainable Development”.
During the launching of the exhibition, the Minister of Energy, Yang Berhormat Pehin
Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awg Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji
Bakar, delivered a keynote address where he stressed that Bruneians need to stop overusing and
abusing the country’s precious hydrocarbon resources.
Yang Berhormat Pehin added, “Brunei has been known to charge the cheapest tariff for its
electricity, which has led to the highest consumption of electricity per head of the population
beating even some of the more developed and industrialised countries in this region.”
“On top of this, Bruneians enjoy the lowest pump price for gasoline, which has also led to
high consumption as Brunei also has the most number of cars per head of population or per mile
of road.”
Yang Berhormat Pehin, who is also an honorary adviser to BEnA, said that the most efficient
way to address this problem is to put a proper value or pricing on these hydrocarbon resources.
“Incentive schemes and the exploration of renewable energy sources need to be explored. It
is vital for the country to adopt integrated system approaches and facilities to have the support of
the whole of society”.
The objectives of the exhibition were to create a platform where BEnA can promote awareness
on energy conservation, renewable energy and cleaner sources of energy to the general public. It
also sought to enhance the existing network and relationship among energy professionals and
policy makers and to keep abreast with the current energy issues.
In his speech, Haji Zainal Abidin Haji Md Ali, President of the Brunei Energy Association
who is also the Deputy Managing Director cum Human Resource and External Affairs Director
of BSP said, “We hope this will help to alter the public’s mindset and give them a greater insight
on the importance for us to use energy efficiently.” Haji Zainal also described the various activities
undertaken by BEnA since its inception on 4 Februaru 2003.
The exhibition, which was open to the public, was participated by major oil and gas
companies in Brunei. These were Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd, Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd,
Brunei Shell Marketing Co Sdn Bhd, Brunei Shell Tankers Sdn Bhd, Total, PetroleumBRUNEI,
Brunei Gas Carreirs, Baiduri Bank, Adinin Group of Companies, Mashhor Group of Companies,
Bureau Veritas and Mitsubishi Corporation.

Former Mana
revisits BSP
BRUNEI Shell Petroleum had the rare privilege of having one of its exManaging Directors pay a visit to the company some 40 years after leaving
his position. Dato George Williams, now 90, the former BSP Managing
Director from 1958 - 1963 arrived in Brunei accompanied by his wife to
visit BSP and BLNG on 15 November 2006.
Dato George Williams, was the Managing Director of BSP from 1958-1963

In 1960, Dato George Williams with the President of Singapore, Inche Yusof
Ishak disembarked from BSP Prince aircraft. They are followed by Puan
Noor Aishah and Mr and Mrs Lee Kuan Yew
BSP’s Managing Director, Grahaeme Henderson along with Deputy
Managing Director cum Human Resource and External Affairs Director, Haji
Zainal Abidin Haji Md Ali, hosted the BSP visit and took the esteemed guests on
a tour of the BSP offices starting with the Time Tunnel gallery, where along the
way, Dato George shared anecdotes about Brunei Shell Petroleum’s operations in
the 1960’s.
Grahaeme highlighted development of Bruneian talent in the years since
Dato George left the country and they mused about former employees and
Managing Directors from the company’s earlier years.
Mrs Williams was impressed by the Social Investment activities carried out
by BSP with regards to supporting the nation’s education system. Grahaeme also
stressed the good relationship BSP has with the Bruneian government and he
highlighted the many achievements the company has had as exhibited by the
Time Tunnel gallery.
The guests were then taken on a tour of the new Production Operations
Control Center (POCC) and were given a short presentation on the Smart Field
concept at work on the Champion West platform.
The presentation highlighted the technology initiatives undertaken by the
company with regards to new drilling techniques such as snake well drilling.
Dato George found the technology employed by today’s drilling operations to be
“fascinating”, noting that it could never have been done in the olden days.
Grahaeme then took the guests on a tour of the BSP Panaga housing area
and the Panaga Club before proceeding to visit the BLNG premises in Lumut.
Salam took the opportunity to interview Dato George and find out his and
BSP’s history:
What was your role here in BSP?
I came here nearly 50 years ago and worked for BSP for six and a half years.
First of all, as the Exploration Manager and then the Technical Manager and
finally, the Managing Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum.
What were your memorable moments working in Brunei?
Making the first discovery off the coast of Brunei. We had drilled a few dry
holes off of Brunei and then we made the first offshore discovery at South West
Ampa in 1963, thirteen kilometers off Kuala Belait. It was quite a momentous
discovery, for Shell and the country.
Was the relationship with the Brunei government the same as it is now?
I had a personal close connection with the late Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali
Saifuddien and kept His Majesty informed of all progress that we were making. I
was quite delighted to work with him and it all worked out well because after I
left, more discoveries were made offshore Brunei and the country has prospered
greatly and changed greatly! Unbelievably so!
How different was life in those days?
There was only one hotel in Brunei and it only had four bedrooms and
now everything is so different. There were no traffic lights because there was no
road initially between Seria and the capital.

er there were very few cars and no traffic lights and now of course, four lane highways everywhere!
ow did you get your ‘Dato’ title?
he former Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien kindly gave me the title just after I left and arranged
present Sultan - His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah - to perform the ceremony in
at Grosvenor House.

he gas liquefaction process. When I left, we were still trying to debate how to get gas liquefied
orted to Japan and at that time, it was technically not possible to load tankers way offshore with
gas. So we were thinking of taking the gas by pipeline up to Brunei Bay, liquefy it and take it
using very shallow tankers.
ut as techniques improved, it was found to be possible to load much larger tankers quite a way
Dato George Williams was briefed on the Champion West project
Visiting the Time Tunnel Gallery at BSP Head Office which brought back
fond memories of Brunei
offshore with liquefied natural gas, so that was still being worked out when I left.
Where did you go after you left Brunei?
I left in the spring of 1964 and went back to work in the North Sea. I was
the Managing Director of the company operating for Shell and Esso in the North
Sea for something like nine years. After retiring from Shell, I became the Director
General of the Association of all the Oil Companies operating in the North Sea
and represented them both in Westminster and Whitehall, so I was quite busy
many years after my retirement with Shell.
Is there anything else you would like to tell our staff?
I look back very fondly to the six and a half years I spent here and it was a
very enjoyable time and of course we were delighted to be successful in finding oil
and gas offshore here in Brunei and the North Sea. I feel very very lucky in life and
I have enjoyed my work. I don’t remember a single day not looking forward to the
day ahead and the work involved.
Dato George Williams obtained a Degree in Geology from
Oxford University and thereafter joined Shell. He later joined the
RAF as a fighter pilot for six years during World War Two and after
the war was over, rejoined Shell. Dato George received his ‘Dato’
title for discovering oil and gas offshore Brunei and later, received
the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) title from Queen
Elizabeth for discovering oil and gas in the North Sea. He lives in
London with his wife, Annick and has a daughter and two grandsons.

The aim of the course was to provide the trainees with a basic understanding of the safe and correct method
of climbing radio towers and rigging safety, particularly for electrical personnel, who are required to climb radio
towers, in the course of their duties.
The course covered a one-day classroom theoretical session and two days practical climbing activities at IT
Service Management’s (ISM) Telecom Tower in the New Industrial Area (NIA).
Overall, the feedback for the course has been positive, with trainees commenting that the training was a
success and timely because of the risk in the nature of their activities.
Mohd Zahrin Abdullah, an electrical technician at PPA felt comfortable with carrying out his work after
attending the course while, Lim Kok Chiang from EOP commented, “I learnt a lot on safety, the proper method
in tightening knots and
more”.
Another
participant, Amzah Haji
Salleh, also from EOP
said, “This course is very
relevant, especially using
the full body harness - this
is much safer than the
safety belt, which we used
before for climbing”.
The next training
session will be in May
2007. Due to safety, the
maximum number of
trainees on this course for
the practical climbing
sessions is strictly limited

Award win for
Outstanding
Service from SPE
IN recognising contributions and leadership to the public and community, the Society of
Petroleum Engineers (SPE) have presented an award to BSP’s very own staff, Nasser Al Araimi,
a Corporate Liquids Forecast Engineer working in BSP’s Business Planning and Economics
department.
Nasser received the prestigious 2005 Society of Petroleum Engineers Regional Young Member
Outstanding Service Award for his services to the SPE, either in Brunei or at a regional level. He has
contributed to the field of petroleum engineering within the region and has published many SPE
papers and technical articles in journals as well as in the petroleum community. He also chaired various
SPE forums , Applied Technology workshops and represented SPE along with other SPE committee
members.
The award was presented at the 2006 SPE Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition
(APOGCE) which was held in Adelaide, Australia on 11 September 2006. Nasser attended the
conference as a representative of the Brunei SPE Section.
This competition recognises contributions and leadership to the public and community, while
respecting local customs as well as the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the profession of the Petroleum
Engineering, or the petroleum industry within the region. It is intended to encourage interests that are
broader than the profession among the young members of the Society.
Nasser faced stiff competition with some 30 SPE sections from the Asia Pacific Region
participating in this regional awards programme. Of his win, Nasser said, “Not only is this a happy day
for me, and for my family, it is also a great honour for BSP. It shows to the rest of the world the great
strides BSP employees have taken in developing the technical capabilities of its engineers and scientists
and as a BSP employee and member of Brunei SPE section that makes me very proud.”
He continued, “I was delighted at the news and proud of this achievement. It’s a great honour
Nasser Al Araimi (BPE/31) received the prestigious SPE
Regional Young Member Service Award 2005
for us and for BSP. It is a recognition of my work. I’m proud of this
award and I am so delighted that my company, my SPE section and
my work have now been recognised”.
During 2005, the SPE Board of Directors voted to expand
SPE’s regional awards programmes. With a large and geographically
diverse membership, SPE recognises that many worthy contributions
to the technology and image of our industry are made worldwide.
While SPE presents a number of honours and awards that
are society-wide, there was a strong desire to recognise more
contributors. This was accomplished through an expansion of the
regional awards programme.
Annual SAP Disaster Recovery
exercise successfully coordinated
By Kamaruddin Rahmat (IWM/32)
THE Brunei SAP EP Blueprint Support team from Work
Management Systems Support department (IWM) successfully
completed its third annual SAP Disaster Recovery (DR) exercise
at the Ministry of Finance in Bandar Seri Begawan in quarter
three, 2006.
As part of the SAP Business continuity, a SAP fallback server was
established at the Ministry to provide recovery of SAP services in the
unlikely event that the SAP server located at BSP becomes damaged for
a prolonged period. In compliance to Shell Group IT Baseline
Compliance Specifications, it is required that the SAP fallback server is
tested annually.
The exercise conducted at the Ministry of Finance this year was to
test the readiness in activation of the SAP server and the fallback
procedures in the event of a disaster. The preparation began on 18 July
2005 and the exercise was conducted on 23 August 2006.
The two-day exercise was coordinated by Kamaruddin Rahmat of
the SAP Support Technical team and involved 25 staff from IWM
Support team, Basis and Infrastructure team (ISM), key business users
from BSP and Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (BLNG), together with Ministry
of Finance IT personnel.
The objectives of the exercise were to:
• Test the DR fallback procedures and the readiness of the SAP
DR server
• Verify the backup and restoration of SAP DR server before and
after the exercise
• Identify and familiarise key business users on DR procedures
• Assess and update defined DR requirements including lessons
learnt
• Comply with the Shell Group IT Baseline Compliance
Specifications
The exercise went well and the objectives were achieved within
the stipulated timeframe.
The key learnings derived from the exercise and actions to be
followed up were:
• Key user’s SAP access rights were too wide and need to be
segregated yet fit-for-purpose to ensure that work can be
processed whilst security controls are not compromised
• Early engagement of line key users in the planning is paramount
to ensure a good understanding of SAP DR and the business fallback procedure
• Clear definition of the disaster scenario simulation with associated backlog and end-to
end transactions processing is required to ensure a sound DR exercise
• Review of current line Fallback procedures and the SAP DR process model, and the
identification of key business users to ensure consistency and seamless integration during
the DR
• Availability of key documents at the DR site is very important e.g. Standard process
flow, job aids and other important documents (i.e. Material Listing)
The business users involved found the exercise very valuable since it was their first exposure
to a SAP DR exercise. With the experience, they were able to reflect and provide input to improve
the SAP DR procedures.
The SAP EP Blueprint Support team would like to convey thanks to the following for
their participation:
• Line users from DOP/13, EBS/2, EOP/20, FAC/12/21/23, PPA/20, SCM/13, WOP/
20, EEE/4, EPO/42, ESB/1, FFC/2, FPR/1, OMS/11
• IWM SAP support team and many others working in the background
• ISM/21, ISM/15 and ISM/14 who worked hard and visited the Ministry of Finance
to ensure all IT infrastructures were ready for the exercise.
• Ministry of Finance for hosting the DR site and supporting this exercise. Special
appreciation goes to Azhar Haji Ahmad, Pg Ali Pg Abd Rahman, Ak Amirul Hayat
Pg Hj Yussop and the MOF Network and Telecommunications team for their help
in making the exercise a success.

Brunei’s Carnivorous Plants
By Zuraidah Haji Abd Kamis (HSE/56)
Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn Bhd is currently working on producing a Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP) for the
Anduki Forest Reserve. This action plan will assist in protecting the species found in the reserve, one of which, is
the Nepenthes.
Brunei is blessed with a rich and diverse wildlife environment. Wildlife species that are abound in Borneo can be found in our own Brunei
jungles and plenty of these fauna and flora are protected. Living in Brunei, we should take the opportunity to know and recognise these
wildlife species, which others may never be able to see in person. An example of this is the Nepenthes (tropical pitcher plants) of Brunei,
locally known as ‘cawan ambok’ (monkey’s cup) or ‘sumboi-sumboi’.
Pitcher plants are notorious for their pitcher-like
leaves and the fact that they are carnivorous plants.
Nepenthes grow in extreme habitats poor of
nutrients. Typical habitats include peat swamp
and mountain rainforests or degraded, eroded
areas. In order to get the nutrients such as nitrogen
and phosphor that they cannot get from the soil,
carnivory provides a solution to this. Their
pitchers act as traps to catch small animals, with
features such as colour, scent or nectar as an
attraction method. Usual prey are insects although
there are Nepenthes species that do not feed on
animals but instead on bird excrements or dead
plant parts that fall into their pitchers.
Once the ‘food’ falls into the pitcher, the digestive
enzymes in the fluid that fills the pitcher digests
them. The plant then absorbs the nutrients.
Although for some pitcher plants, the fluid is a
habitat for a variety of animals. There have been
discoveries of mosquito larvae, flies and midges
as well as frog eggs inside Nepenthes pitchers.
Some pitcher plants have a mutualistic
relationship with ants, both depending on each
other for survival. Generally these plants have
unique and interesting characteristics.
Fluid inside the pitcher
helps to digest food
that falls inside the pitcher
Some ants form a “bond”
with pitcher plants
There are about 100 species of Nepenthes in the world, with
30 of these growing naturally in Borneo. Although common
within their distribution range, many Nepenthes are critically
threatened and are protected by the Convention on
International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and
Flora (CITES). Some of the rare ones can be found in our
own Brunei jungles.
Closer to us, there have been findings of Nepenthes in the
Anduki Forest Reserve. Five species have been identified and
listed under the Wildlife Protection Act. These are the
Nepenthes ampullaria, Nepenthes bicalcarata, Nepenthes
gracilis, Nepenthes mirabilis and Nepenthes rafflesiana.
Anduki Forest Reserve is home to several species of Nepenthes
Individually, we can each make a contribution to the
conservation of these special plants by not picking or
collecting them and educating others on their protection.
This is why BSP’s involvement in the environment and
producing the Biodiversity Action Plan for Anduki Forest
Reserve is so important. This not only satisfies the requirements
of the Shell Group Biodiversity Standard but also BSP’s
commitment under the BSP HSE Policy to protect the
environment. Further information regarding the BAP can be
obtained from the HSE/5 Environmental Affairs section.

balanced scorecard
Haji Junaidi Haji Omar, Director of CSI (seated furthest right) together with programme participants
BSM has again sponsored a programme involving
balanced scorecards for the public and private
sectors on 20 November 2006.
This programme called ‘Strategy Management
with Balanced Scorecard’ is designed to introduce the
Balanced Scorecard as part of strategy management,
from its formulation to implementation. The Civil
Service Institute coordinated this year’s programme.
This annual event is developed with the objectives
to share best practices and to foster relationships with
BSM’s key business partners both in the public and
private sectors. This is also part of BSM’s social
responsibility and commitment to promote sustainable
development initiatives for Brunei.
At the programme, Hajah Aisah Haji Othman,
Head of Business and Development Support
represented BSM. The Director of the Civil Service
Institute, Haji Junaidi Haji Omar also attended the
event.
Participants to the programme included senior
officials from the Management Services Department,
Public Services Department, Ministry of Health, Civil
Service Institute, Ministry Of Communication, Bank
Islam Brunei Darusalam (BIBD) and Tabung Amanah
Islam Brunei (TAIB).
Last year, BSM also sponsored a similar
programme called ‘Materialising Organisation Strategy
Map Using Balanced Scorecard’ that was successfully
conducted at the ASEAN-EC.
In BSM, the scorecard is used at all levels from
corporate to the individual. Use of the scorecard ensures
that the company’s strategy is communicated
throughout the organisation and enables staff to identify
how they are contributing to the business. Beside
organisation development, it also encourages
performance development.
