TCA or Trichloroacetic acid is a stronger and deeper peel for patients who
want to repair skin damage from sun exposure through skin peeling. Some of
this skin damage can also be driven by hormones resulting in a condition called
Melasma. These peels can remove lesions or scarring from years ago. TCA
peels can lighten or remove freckles and age spots on the face. Since TCA is
a stronger acid, these peels are sometimes used on the body to help with sun
damage on the arms, legs, and decolletage. This peel causes sun damage to
rise to the surface of the skin and then peel or flake off.
