This means continually looking for opportunities to challenge ourselves further and raise the benchmark of success. For example, we are committed to sending zero waste to landfill despite recycling infrastructure being a significant challenge in the region. This drives us to follow the ‘reduce and reuse’ approach before considering recycling. We treat waste as any other stream of revenue and look for innovative solutions that cut costs and carbon. Fuel consumption in our generators is the primary contributor to our carbon footprint. This is why our new projects are connecting to the mains for power, water and sewage. Finally, we need to ensure that we are engaging both our own people and those who are outside our immediate business, as community engagement remains a challenge in certain regions within MENA.
