We are called by God the Father to be a welcoming presence of Jesus Christ in our parish and community through worship, fellowship and service. As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace. Father Tom McMichael, Parish Priest Dear Friends, It is my privilege to invite you all to a very special Mass tomorrow evening at St. Mary. Tomorrow, Monday, April 18, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., Archbishop J. Peter Sartain will join us to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on youth and adults from St. Mary and St. Anne. This is a important day in the lives of the confirmandi who will receive the Sacrament, their families and friends, their catechists, and our two communities of faith. The YOUCAT (Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church) reminds us of what a wonderful gift the Sacrament of Confirmation is: What is Confirmation? Confirmation is the Sacrament that completes Baptism; in it the gift of the Holy Spirit is bestowed upon us. Anyone who freely decides to live a life as God's child and asks for God's Spirit under the signs of the imposition of hands and anointing with Chrism receives the strength to witness to God's love and might in words and deeds. He is now a full-fledged, responsible member of the Catholic Church. [CCC 1285-1314] I especially want to thank our faithful catechists for their good work in preparing these candidates for the Sacrament: Lesa Roehrich and Liza Harwell at St. Anne, and Michael Schmitz at St. Mary. Please join us for this wonderful celebration of our Catholic faith and this opportunity to get to know our Archbishop. Easter Blessings, Fr.
