FBU Stars Named U.S. Army All
All-Americans
Football University brings together the best players in the country to learn from the best coaches in the country. But you already
knew that. But just in case you needed some more evidence about the quality of players that compete at FBU, chew on this: this
thi
week, two FBU alumni-California's
California's Ronald Powell, Texas' Lache Seastrunk and Minnesota's Seantrel Henderson-were
Henderson
selected as the
first official participants in the 2010 U.S. Army All
All-American
American Bowl, to be played January 10 in San Antonio, live on NBC.
Seastrunk, a 5-11, 192-pound
pound running back for Temple High School, was a standout this summer at at Football University this year.
At both training experiences, he shows why he is regarded as the top back in the nation, using his quick feet and unique array
arra of
moves to wow onlookers, coaches and fellow players, alike.
Powell is a rarity, possessing the potential to make an impact at the college level from either his defensive end spot (where is he
most commonly recruited) or at tight end. His deceptive speed
speed-with respect to his large 6-4, 230-pound
pound frame-impressed
frame
all who
saw him at FBU Top Gun.
Henderson, a defensive tackle, is regarded as the nation's top player by Rivals.com, and lived up to that billing at FBU, where
whe he
dominated the competition and showed why he is the apple of many a Division 1 college's eye.
Powell expressed the desire to make the same impact in the Bowl that all three made at FBU, stating, "the greatest have played
playe in
this game and hopefully I'll be one of the greatest. It's an honor to play in this game."
All three have proven over the course of their prep careers that they are worthy of All
All-American
American status, so it is only fitting that they
be chosen for football's most elite showcase of tomorrows college and NFL stars. Football University co
congratulates
ngratulates the Lache, Ronald
and Seantrel-the elitest of the elite-for
for being selected to the U.S. Army All
All-American Bowl.

I'm very excited to announce that 2010 U.S. Army All
AllAmerican Sharrif Floyd will be blogging once a week for
SportsIllustrated.com as part of their coverage of the 10th
Anniversary U.S. Army All-American

Floyd's bio on SI.com, he won the Maxwell at FBU
Philadelphia and attended Top Gun. Can you find the
Combine plug in the blog?
Sharrif will be talking about his senior season, recruiting AND
his selection tour event in October. In addition, he will be
blogging from down in San Antonio.

Beginning Week 5, each time you see a team, you will
also see points within parenthesizes, those points
represents the teams playoff points. Here is an example
of how playoff points are calculated:
Playoff Points
272

= Playoff Point Average
54.400
+ Total Bonus Point Average
11.800
= Total Playoff Points
66.200

So who is the best player in the state? My pick is Jeremy
Langford, Westland John Glenn, he came into the season with
very little hoopla, each week he is in the “Players of the Week”
•
•
•
and based on stats--he
he is averaging 243 yards rushing a game. If
you say not so fast, ask yourself one question, is there any
player who has out performed him any week? Did I tell you he
has 1,707 rushing yards for the year --second
second in the nation
behind Travis Pennington, Milan
an (IN) who has 1,781
1,781.

What’s wrong with this picture? Detroit Country Day
(66.0) 5-2;
2; Birmingham Brother Rice (83.5) 55-2; Orchard
Lake St. Mary’s (55.8) 3-3; Inkster (58.8) 4--2; Farmington
Hills Harrison (67.4) 5-2 all needing the remaining two
games to get into the playoffs. Hate to say it, for you
traditionalist, only 1 of this group is gonna make it, ok
ok,
well maybe 2.
According to MaxPreps.com, #13 ranked team in the
country and #1 in the state of Indiana
Indiana, Indianapolis
Cathedral (IN) 6-1 invades the state of Michigan for a
game with Brother Rice (83.5) 5-2, 1:30 p.m. Saturday
Saturday,
this is probably not the game the Warriors would like to
have for several reasons. Tough game for Homecoming;
and after an emotional 3 overtime loss to St. Mary’s
Mary’s, not
the right team to play if you MUST win to get in the
playoffs. So Rice leaves this game in to another tsunami
by having to play a rematch with DeLaSalle
DeLaSalle, in a playoff
game so to speak, as the loser’s season is over. Hence,

Rice will be three weeks consecutive
consecut in our Games of the
Week.
Inkster (58.8) 4-2 is in need a major upset as they go on
the road to face the #20 ranked team in the country, #4
ranked team in Ohio, according to MaxPreps.com as
they face the undefeated Cleveland St. Ignatius
Wildcats.. Next week another Ohio Powerhouse in
Steubenville who is also undefeated and ranked #17th in
Ohio.. Now is just as good a time as any to thank Devin
Gardner for a great football career.
St. Joseph Lake Michigan Catholic (16.7)
(
proved that you
can score on Mendon (72.0) in a 53-7 loss. It’s up to
Bronson (55.6) and Covert (9.7) now to prove that
someone can beat the undefeated Hornets, well maybe
not.
Traverse City St. Francis (73.1
73.1), With a 70-7 win over
Harbor Springs (21.1); #8 Dewitt (97.1) with a 62-0 win
over Ionia (25.7); Ravenna (52.9) with a 77-12 win over
Hart (9.8);; these wins are not impressive, this is “Bobby
Bowden” like of the 80’s and I am sure that you all have
bullying policies in your schools. Mendon you are not
excluded from this list either.
What in the world is wrong with Avondale 5-2 (4-1) in
OAA-Blue (70.9) and their inability to win what should be
easy games at home? Pontiac Phoenix 6-1 (5-1) in OAABlue (76.0), clinchess a share of the league title with a win
against the Yellowjackets. Saturday, at 2pm; it will be
Homecoming for Pontiac.
Petoskey (93.7) 7-0 at Cadillac (83.3)
(
6-1: With Alpena
(2-5)
5) on the schedule for week nine, Petoskey can take a
big step toward its first undefeated season since 1974
with a victory here.
Ann Arbor Pioneer (84.8) 6-1 at Chelsea (80.7) 6-1:
Pioneer has not defeated Chelsea in six tries. Pioneer will
wi
need to contain Michigan State-bound
State
running back Nick
Hill to keep Chelsea from controlling the clock.
#4 Lowell (98.2) 7-0 at #5 East Grand Rapids (103.4) 7-0;
Each team has a great shot at winning a state title, Lowell
in Division 2, East Grand Rapids
Rapid in Division 3. But there's
the O-K
K White Division title to be decided first.
