To: Current and Prospective FBU Alum:
•
I'm very excited to announce that 2010 U.S. Army All
AllAmerican Sharrif Floyd will be blogging once a week for
SportsIllustrated.com as part of their coverage of the 10th
Anniversary U.S. Army All-American
American Bowl. As you can see in
Floyd's bio on SI.com, he won the Maxwell at FBU
Philadelphia and attended Top Gun. Can you find the
Combine plug in the blog?
Sharrif will be talking about his senior season, recruiting AND
his selection tour event in October. In addition, he will be
blogging from down in San Antonio.

Kudos to Orchard Lake St. Mary,, major upset over then #
3 ranked Warren DeLaSalle and a much needed win for
the school. With Catholic Central and Brother Rice still on
deck it was a must win to hold on to their playoff
chances.
Wyatt Shallman,, Freshman, Detroit (Novi) Catholic
Central, Oooh Weee! Coach, really move this guy up to
JV, I want to say Varsity, but I have to get permission
from his beautiful parents who celebrated their wedding
anniversary at his game this past Saturday. “Wy” not, he
does everything, time to move him up.
Has anyone noticed that Ann Arbor Pioneer has snuck
into the Top 10 like a silent assassin? People wrote off
the Inkster win as an upset, 4 games later now what?
Yep, we know about Ricardo Miller,, but there is another
name emerging on the other side of the ball Reilly
Quigley. Quigley, is such a nice guy he welcomed
Saginaw Arthur Hill to Ann Arbor by going 80 yards on
the opening kick off for a TD and just to make sure that
the Lumberjacks knew exactly who he was,, he sent them
on their way with a 73 yard interception
on for a TD to close
out a 58-20
20 win. This guy is a combination of Deon
Sanders and Ray Lewis. Don’t kick the ball to him, don’t
throw the ball at him, and don’t run at him. That is if you
want to win, guess the first four teams didn’t want to win
too bad.
So the word on the street is the Westside Steelers have
the best tailgate parties of any team? This is little league
right, come on, a six pack of Kool-Aid
id and gummy bears
and chicken nuggets before the game?
LISTEN THIS TIME WHEN I TELL YOU, the
he Highland Park
Polar Bears are “For Real.” MHSAA send someone in the
locker room with Highland Park at half time; 3 weeks in a
row they play a lackluster but close first half
half; go in
behind; come out in the second half and put on the most
“offensive” display in the second half. Hats off to the
Coaching Staff, they must be giving those “Win one for
the Gipper” speeches at the half. They learned
something in the Brother Rice game, “don’t kick the ball
deep after you score a touchdown.”
.” Had they known that
a week earlier, they would be undefeated.

Here is to the Basketball Coaches at Brother Rice and
Country Day, whatever it is that you do during Basketball
Season that allows you to get the ball in the hands of
Kevonte Martin-Manley and Kenny Knight could you
please go share that with the football coaches. We know
that 3-4
4 guys are guarding these two from the time they
come out for the pre-game
game stretch to the end of the
game showers, but they have to have the ball for your
teams to win. If passing is not your thing (football
(foot
coaches), basketball coaches you get on the sideline and
figure out how to run a “pick and roll” or a “zone
breaker” for the football team. Kevonte played a little
quarterback a few years back,
back or you could even line him
up in the backfield with the speed that he has.
has At 6’4”,
Kenny could run the Wildcat. Bottom line, get these guys
the ball!!!
Man, I got two dates on Friday; one with Ms. Pam
Mathis, watching her son, FBU-Michigan
FBU
Camp MVP Dior
Mathis, (Cass Tech) v. the consensus player of the year
William Gholston,, (Southeastern) I can’t wait, PSL
Championship implications on the line. I’m telling you
right now, Pam, there can be no overtime in this game; I
got popcorn waiting for me in Sterling Heights with
Derrick Wright (Justice Wright’s Dad).
After the big battle in the PSL, it’s off to Sterling Heights,
Derrick; you got to get me one of them terrible towels.
By the time I get there all the seats
seat will be gone, I’m so
excited I wish I had one down of eligibility left.
left Ok, but
finally its here, #4 Macomb Dakota v. #1 Sterling Heights

upset at home? This
may not be a good week to be an Avondale opponent.
Ferndale are you listening?
Do you remember this statement last week: Kevontae
Hollis, Pontiac High, is the most underrated player in the
state. He was at Pontiac Central, two years ago, and left
the state last year. He is on the national databases;
however I have yet to read anything in the state about
him, translation “he is one of the top three linebackers in
the state.” Looks
oks like he got his due, big story in the
Detroit News on this past Saturday,
Saturday great job Terry
Foster.

Speaking of Pontiac High they have 208 playoff points
points,
while Detroit Country Day has 192 playoff points, as we
look ahead 4 weeks, is it possible that the season finale
in which they face off, could actually be a playoff game
so to speak? Six wins means that you meet the qualifier,
but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you are in the
playoffs. Both teams could enter the game,, with a record
of 6 wins and 2 losses, with the loser
er possibly being out
of the playoffs. Stay tuned this game all of a sudden is
starting to take on a lot more meaning that it initially did.
I’m already making it a “Game of the Week”, week 9.
Clawson, you took off the Pink Uniforms and look what
happened. Still scored a lot of points, but “L” for this
week. Put the Pink Uniforms back on.
Jamar Love,, (Romulus), when is homecoming? We like to
have a good time, you guys having it a little rough right
now, but we coming to see you, so let’s pick a game that
will be fun for all of us.

ague or High School
