The estimated cost is $ 538,000.00. An application for funding has been submitted to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy (MAMOT) in hopes of lessening the financial impact on the Municipality. STUDENT JOBS – SUMMER 2016 In January and February, the Municipality will begin recruiting student employees for the 2016 summer season: for the library, day camp, tourist information center, parks (Dorwin Falls Park, Cascades Park and the municipal beach), security, horticulture as well as lifeguards for the municipal beach. Are you energetic, hard-working and wish to join our team for the 2016 summer season? Watch our website for more information. THE DEPARTMENT OF TOWN PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT WOULD LIKE TO INFORM YOU This winter season, please remember: • To ensure that your temporary car shelter is not damaged during municipal snow removal operations, it must be installed at no less than 1.5 meters (Village sector) or 3 meters (Township sector) from the street right-of-way. Its tarp must be clean and in good condition. • To make sure that your street address, located at the edge of the street right-of-way, is visible at all times. • That snow from your property cannot be pushed into the street right-of-way. Make sure that the mounds do not hinder visibility, especially at intersections. • To make sure that your property exits and driveway are cleared at all times to facilitate access to emergency vehicles. • Following a pick-up, to remove your garbage/recycling/composting bins from the street right-of-way so that they do not get damaged during municipal snow removal operations. • That it is forbidden to feed the deer as well as other local wildlife throughout the municipality’s territory. DOCUMENTS YOU MUST REMIT TO THE MUNICIPALITY AFTER YOU HAVE OBTAINED A PERMIT TO UNDERTAKE CERTAIN WORK PROJECTS - In order to obtain a refund of the deposit paid at the time you took a building permit (new construction, extension), you must submit an original copy of your new and updated certificate of location to the Municipality. - Following the digging of a well for which you obtained the necessary permit, you must submit a copy of the drilling report to the Municipality. - If you own the following type of septic system (Ecoflo, Bionest, etc) you must submit a copy of your annual maintenance contract report to the Municipality. 3 ENVIRONMENT COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENT CHRISTMAS TREE You have two choices to dispose of your natural Christmas tree: • Ecological option : you can bring it to the Écocentre, where it will be transformed into wood shavings (Écocentre : 3269, Metcalfe St. | Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm); • You can cut it into 1 meter (3 feet) sections, tie them in bundles and put them out to the road alongside your garbage bin, on the eve of garbage pick-up. GIFT WRAP When you unwrap your gifts, take care to retrieve the paper, gift bags and ribbons for use next year. If they are too damaged they can be dropped into the recycling bin as long as they have no sparkly appliqués, are not metallic or laminated. The same goes for tissue paper. If in doubt, always choose the recycling bin over the garbage bin; the sorting center will remove any non-recyclable paper. (Source: Recyc-Québec). COMMUNITY FAMILY POLICY We would like thank everyone who took part in our Family Policy survey. We are currently compiling the results and an action plan will be presented to the Council early in the New Year. Stay tuned.
