Taste of Roselle 2015
Festival fans experienced one of Roselle’s finest
events, the 34th Annual Taste of Roselle! Our Bingo
and Beer Tents continue to be popular attractions
offering family entertainment and refreshing
beverages. And the weather, what a beautiful
weekend that was cut a bit short due to Sunday
evening’s storm.
Our success was possible due to the generous
donations made by Chamber member businesses
and friends of the Chamber. Please see page 3 for
a list of this year’s Bingo Sponsors.
Volunteers were tireless in their efforts
from the time of set-up on Friday through
tear down on Sunday. They met every
need of our customers in both the Beer
and Bingo Tents. Beverages and bingo
cards were flowing, and entertaining
bingo calling filled the Bingo Tent. Loads
of thanks to over 150 volunteers with our
special thanks to Bingo Chair Joe Salerno
and Beer Chairs Jay P. Mueller, DDS and
Kevin Weslock, Langner Eye Care.
This event is a community effort comprised
of many groups and organizations. We thank the Village of Roselle for their continued
support as well as the Taste Commission for coordinating a top-notch event! We also
thank and recognize American General & Electrical Contractors for donating their
time to ensure electrical service in the Bingo Tent.
Last of all, and certainly not least,
congratulations to the Scouts of Troop
#408 for a job well done. These fine
young men and their families offer
annual services to assist with set-up
and tear down in both tents.

I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy the
beautiful weekend at The Taste of Roselle. I am
still amazed how much time and coordination
it takes to put on this event! It takes hundreds
if not thousands of man hours from several
different organizations that all come together for
one common goal, to celebrate our community!
I would like to start out by thanking the Taste
Commission for their outstanding work and
dedication to this event and to our community. I would also like to thank
Chamber Board members Joe Salerno, and Jay Mueller, DDS for taking on the
responsibility of Chairing our Bingo and Beer Tents once again this year. The
Village of Roselle also donates hundreds of hours through many departments
including Public Works, Police and Fire. Thank you to everyone.
With the weather on our side for three straight days (aside from one brief but
intense storm Sunday), we were able to have a very successful weekend which
in turn allows us to donate funds back to local community groups including
the Roselle Veterans Memorial. None of this would be possible without our
hard working volunteers and I was definitely filled with pride as I watched over
150 people give their valuable time to the Chamber so that we could have a
successful event and give back to Roselle. We truly do have the best members
and volunteers of any organization, hands down!
This month be sure to join us on August 26th for our Business After Hours
at Langner Eye Care. We always enjoy visiting with all you at our events, and
promise a fun evening of networking, food and drinks.
Remember to save the date for our upcoming Casino Night, October 9. Last year
was a great evening of fun for the community. This event is open to everyone,
so invite your friends and family to come out for an entertaining night.

The events tent at Bloomingdale Golf Club provided a great
venue to host our annual picnic. The food was fabulous
and we thank Don Helmig and the Staff from Catering with
Elegance for terrific service!

There are many to recognize for making this event possible
starting with the membership. The picnic is our way of
saying “thank you” for your support. We look forward to

We thank Picnic Chair Tom Kowalski for planning the event
as well as Committee Members Gail Croson, Michelle

It’s that time of year to consider members for the Joseph G.
Salerno Business Person of the Year Award. The award is
given to a Chamber member whose professional successes
and contributions to the community represent the best of
business and professional enterprises.
The Committee is accepting suggestions based upon
the following criteria:
• Must be a person owning or representing an existing
business in Roselle or vicinity.
• Must be a member in good standing of the Roselle
Chamber of Commerce; and
• Must be a person with current involvement in Roselle
business growth.
If you know of a local business person who is deserving
of the award, please submit their name in writing to the
Chamber office by August 21. Be sure to outline his/her
qualifications based on the criteria.
