Principal’s Report
The end of term 3 has come so quickly; it has been a very enjoyable, busy and productive term.
Fathers’ Day on Home Island Campus-Mrs Auld-Bower conducted a very successful
Fathers’ Day on Home Island, with lots of dads getting involved. The importance of fathers in their
child’s education can not be under-estimated and we welcome their involvement at our school.
Well done Dads!
Twilight Carnival -The trial of a twilight carnival was a resounding success. Thanks to Mrs Auld-Bower for her
excellent organisation. Feedback from the vast majority of parents has been very positive. Congratulations to the
factions for their superb sportsmanship. Final results -Blue 688 Gold 742.
Parents & Citizens Fete and Auction-Our annual school fete and auction raised $22 000! This was
fantastic however the fete is not just about raising money for our P&C, it is also about coming together as a
community to support our school. On both counts, this year’s fete was a resounding success. I would like to thank the
P&C committee, teachers, teacher assistants, parents and the whole school community for their generous assistance.
Also I would like to thank all our donors and sponsors.
Next term -Joe Bolton’s Suitcase Circus is coming to Cocos to train our students in a variety of circus skills for our
end of the year concert. Also the school will be involved in the100th Anniversary of the sinking of the Emden and our
swimming carnival will be in week 7. (Please refer to the term planner on the back page.)
I would like to wish all families a happy and safe holiday break and I would also like to thank everyone for the support
they have given to the school.
