It hosts several parties and it’s also known for having the typical “fado houses”. Mosteiro dos Jerónimos Jeronimos Monastery is a Manueline monastery testimony of the richness of the Portuguese Discoveries. It is situated in Belém, Lisbon, at the entrance of Rio Tejo (Tagus River). Torre de Belém Tower of Belem is a fortified tower located in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (along with the nearby Jerónimos Monastery) Padrão dos Descobrimentos Monument to the Discoveries is a monument on the northern bank of the Tagus River estuary, in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém, Lisbon. Located along the river where ships departed to explore and trade with India and Orient, the monument celebrates the Portuguese Age of Discovery during the 15th and 16th centuries. Sintra’s Village It is a town within the municipality of Sintra and it became a major tourist center. Palácio da Pena The Pena National Palace is a Romanticist palace in São Pedro de Penaferrim, municipality of Sintra, Portugal. The palace stands on the top of a hill above the town of Sintra, and on a clear day it can be easily seen from Lisbon and much of its metropolitan area. Castelo dos Mouros The Castle of the Moors is a hilltop medieval castle located in the central Portuguese civil parish of Santa Maria in the municipality of Sintra. Taken by Christian forces from the Moors after the fall of Lisbon, it was an important strategic point during the Reconquest . Cascais It is a cosmopolitan suburb of the Portuguese capital and it is also one of the richest municipalities. The former fishing village gained fame as a resort for Portugal's royal family in the late 19th century and early 20th century. Cabo da Roca Cape Roca is a cape which forms the westernmost extent of mainland Portugal and continental Europe and it is in the Portuguese municipality of Sintra, west of the district of Lisbon. Mafra (Palácio Nacional de Mafra) Mafra National Palace is a monumental Baroque and Italianized Neoclassical palacemonastery located in Mafra, Portugal, some 28 km away from Lisbon. Almada It is one of the cities in Almada Municipality in Portugal, and it is located just 3.55km away from Lisbon. Cristo Rei Christ the King statue is a Catholic monument dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ overlooking the city of Lisbon in the central part of Portugal. Ponte 25 de Abril The 25th of April Bridge is a suspension bridge connecting the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, to the municipality of Almada on the left (south) bank of the Tagus River. It was inaugurated on 6th August, 1966 and a train platform was added in 1999. Costa de Caparica Is a Portuguese civil parish, located in the municipality of Almada along the western coast of the Setúbal district. Since December 2004, Costa de Caparica has been designated as city within the urban hierarchy of Portugal. The end…
