• Utsav is a celebration or a festival. • Pushti Marg religion is ripe with Utsavs • Important for all Vaishnavs to understand and perceive the knowledge • Utsavs are based on various leelas of the Lord Shree Krishna. • Performed by vrajbhaktas and gopis to please Shree Krishna • Represent their various sentiments and emotions The Utsavs performed are based on different seasons In Sawan-Hindolas, in Sharad-Raasleela, in FagunHolikhel, in summer-Jalvihar, Nav, Phulmandali, Khaskhana, in Diwali-Deepmalika and Hatri. Other Utsavs like Chhappanbhog, Annakoot, Vivaah, Daanleela, Saanjhileela, Nandmahotsav, Bagicha, Chhaakleela and many more are performed as per Pushti tradition for the pleasure of the Lord. Offer different types of samagri, Vasrta and abushan (clothes, attire and ornaments) ; these represent various sentiments. The Kirtans(devotional songs), Pichhavais etc are also arranged based on the particular Utsav’s theme The preparations for each Utsav were laid out by Shree Mahprabhuji and also by Shree Gusainji. These have remained the same over the past 100 odd years. Vaishnavs have a relationship with Thakorji in a child form; hence he waits for his devotees to celebrate the Utsavs with him. Celebrate the Utsavs with dedication and personally get involved in the preparations of the celebrations. Manorath is derived from word ‘Man’. Celebration arranged when a vaishnav has a devine desire to serve and please Shri Thakorji. “Manma bhav jagey”… It can be a simple event held in your own residence, or a large event open to all Vaishnavs. It can be to celebrate say a family occasion, birth, marriage etc, or purely the urge to please Shre Thakorji, with one of his Leela. It can be on the occasion of an Utsav or on another chosen day. For example Chundadi Manorath, 84 Bethak manorath etc organised by Vaishnav families or Mandals on their chosen days and dates. A Mahotsav is celebrated to express the experience of eternal bliss (Ananda). It is organised on a much bigger scale, to involve large numbers of Vaishnav s. The appearance day of any Goswami Balaks, Vivah or any auspicious occasion are also incorporated. For example, in 2009 we organised the Trividh Swarup Mahotsav at Leyton Haveli, with Shri Je Je’s aashirwaad. Last year we celebrated the Pushti Panch tatva Mahotsav with Shri Je Je over 3 days. When Shree Krishna was born, Nandraiji celebrated that Utsav in the form of ‘Mahotsav.’ When Shree Krishna rescued Shree Rukshamaniji in Dwarika, the people of Dwarika celebrated the vivah of Shree Krishna in the form of Mahotsav. The ultimate aim of any Utsav, Mahotsav and Manorath should be to achieve ‘Sukh’ for Lord. Our devotion to Shri Thakorji is in a child form and these are the occasions when we have the opportunity to pour out our emotions and feelings to show him the same love that he so much yearned from the Vrajbhaktas
