Auckland is a colourful, vibrant metropolis and the city’s spectacular setting on the sparkling Waitemata Harbour gives rise to its title ‘City of Sails’. Its most obvious landmarks are the Harbour Bridge, the Sky Tower and Rangitoto Island, the region’s youngest volcano. Heading out of the city to the north you will find the Rodney District where you will pause in the historic village of Warkworth for morning tea at a local tea shop and the chance to stretch your legs with a short stroll through the village. Re-board your coach and continue with your journey to the beautiful and remote Tawharanui Regional Park for a walk around the park and the sensationally secluded beach. From here you will transfer to Matakana, an upcoming boutique wine region, where you will visit two of the finest vineyards in the area.
