Book Club en Español– St. Bede
Un grupo de adultos de la Comunidad Hispana de la
parroquia St. Bede el Venerable en Montgomery, AL con
la bendición del Párroco Padre Alejandro Valladares,
están leyendo el Diario de María Faustina Kowalska para
aprender más sobre la misericordia de Dios en este Año
Jubilar de la Misericordia. El grupo se reúne dos veces al

Book Club in Spanish – St. Bede
A group of adults from the Hispanic Community from
St. Bede the Venerable Parish in Montgomery, AL, with
the blessing of our pastor Fr. Alex Valladares, is reading
the Diary of Mary Faustina Kowalska to learn more
about the mercy of God during this Jubilee Year of
Mercy. The group meets twice a month and discuss in
Spanish what they have read. We started to read the
diary in May and will finish in October. There are no
words to describe all the blessings and how much this
reading is helping us to grow in our spiritual life. Please
keep us in your prayers so all of us who are starting this
journey are able to finish it.

CHOIR DIRECTOR NEEDED .
St. Bede
Catholic Church is seeking a director for the traditional
choir. This part-time position requires applicants to
have experience in vocal development and conducting,
be a practicing Catholic, and be available for the 8am
Sunday Mass and choir practice one night a week,
preferably Thursday. Duties include planning the
liturgy, previewing and purchasing music, and directing
the choir.

SECOND COLLECTION.
St. Bede Parish
will take up a Second Collection this weekend,
August 6 & 7, for the Church in Latin America.
This collection supports works of evangelization,
formation of laity, religious and seminarians, as well
as youth ministry and catechesis. Please extend
your generosity to our brothers and sisters in
Latin America.

UPDATE: Registration for Religious
Education classes will be Sunday August
7 and August 14 in the Family Life Center
from 11:15 to Noon. This is for children
entering K-5 through Gr. 6.
Classes meet on Sunday mornings
from 11:15 - 12:15 in the school.
Children must be registered before
attending the first class on Sunday,
September 11.
Anytime after August 7 you can come by
the Parish office and register your children
if either Sunday is not convenient.
The Seguidores de Cristo Charismatic Group had their 3rd Anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 23 and hosted a reception

Parents must be married in the Catholic Church.
If a couple is civilly married or unmarried, they must
make an appointment to meet with the Pastor before
they can have their children baptized.
3. Children age 6 and under will receive the sacrament of
Baptism. From 7 and above, they will receive all three
sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Communion, and
Confirmation).
4. Parents must bring a copy of their marriage certificate
from the Church where they were married.
5. Godparents must be practicing Catholics. You may
have a proxy for a godparent/s who may be unable to
come.
6. To have your child baptized, contact Joan at 272-3463
to schedule a Baptism Preparation Class.
7. Baptism in English is every 3rd Sunday of each month
after the 10am Mass.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

6 pm in the Parish Hall. RCIA is a journey through
which interested adults discover the depth and
fullness of our Catholic faith. Parishioners are also

own knowledge and commitment to our faith. If

GOSPEL OF MATTHEW. We
will begin our Bible study on
Tuesday August 16th at 7 p.m.
in the St. Bede Parish Hall.
This year we will be taking a look
at the Gospel of Matthew. The
Gospel of St. Matthew was the
most popular Gospel among the early
Church Fathers. Many Catholic teachings
are found within its pages, from the Virgin
Birth of Jesus, to the Trinity, and the role of
Peter as the first Pope, to name just a few.
The Gospel of Matthew teaches us what it
means to be a disciple and what it means to
make disciples. Come join us as we take
time to study and reflect on the Gospel of
Matthew, and in so doing may the Lord
bless us in becoming better disciples and
disciple-makers.
