The season of Advent/Christmas has as its central theme the coming of the
Christ-Star into the world. It is a time to remember how God’s Beloved
came to restore harmony to a fractured world, to dispel whatever keeps love
from shining through all beings. The Christ-Star, this Irresistible Love in
us, this Radiant Goodness, is at the core of our souls. We are reminded that
each of us has the light of this Shining Star within us. This special season
assures us that we can radiate love and goodness to others.

Just as a star led the Magi to the Christ Child, so we are meant to be stars

El tiempo de Adviento/Navidad tiene como tema central la venida de Cristo, la Estrella, en el mundo. Es un tiempo para recordar como el amado de
Dios vino a restaurar la armonía de un mundo dividido, para disipar cualquier oscuridad que impida la vista del amor radiante. Cristo, La Estrella,
este Amor Irresistible en nosotros, este Amor Radiante, está en el centro de
nuestras almas. Se nos recuerda que dentro de cada uno de nosotros brilla
la luz de esta Estrella. Este tiempo especial nos asegura que podemos irradiar amor y bondad a otros.
Como una estrella dirigió a los Reyes Magos al Niño Jesús, así nosotros
podemos ser estrellas que llevan a otros a conocer al Divino Amor. Otras
personas son también estrellas para nosotros, llevándonos hacia ese Divino
Amor. En cada uno de nosotros, la manifestación del Divino Amor es un
regalo excepcional que nos ofrece ánimo y esperanza..

The traditional date of Epiphany is January 6, but in the
United States it is celebrated on the Sunday between January 2 and 8. Some communities use this feast as an occasion to bless the home while recalling the visit of the Magi.
We offer you the following prayer as a blessing for your
home and family.
Family gathers at the manger scene. All make the Sign of the
Cross.

La fecha tradicional de la Epifanía (Día de los Reyes) es el 6 de
enero. En los Estados Unidos se celebra el domingo después
del Año Nuevo. En algunas comunidades este es el día para
bendecir el hogar. Recordamos la visita de los Reyes Magos.
Les ofrecemos esta oración como una bendición para el hogar y
la familia.
La familia se reúne alrededor del pesebre. Todos se persignan.
Leader: Peace be with this house and all who live here. Blessed

Leader: During these days of the Christmas season, we keep
this feast of the Epiphany, celebrating the manifestation of Christ
to the Magi, to John at the River Jordan and to the disciples at
the Wedding Feast at Cana. Today Christ is manifest to us! Today, this home is a holy place.

each room, God’s blessing is asked on all that takes place in that

Our Lady of Guadalupe Committee
With the early transmission of the bulletin for the last few
weeks, we were unable to thank the many people who
prepared our celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The
preparation began in September as parishioners visited
homes with the Statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe. They
prayed the rosary and shared reflections on Bible Readings. The statue remained with the host family for the
night. The next day this family would bring the statue to
the next family.
A group of parishioners designed the Altar. On the nights before December 12, people came to pray before the altar. As is
tradition, many brought roses remembering how Mary arranged
the roses in the tilma (cloak) of Juan Diego, which left the imprint of her image.
Others prepared the programs for the liturgy, especially the
music. Another group prepared the Fiesta which was celebrated on December 12 after the 7:30 PM Mass.
This feast in honor of Mary is a special devotion for our Mexican community. Our Lady of Guadalupe is also the Patroness
of all the Americas. May our devotion to Mary the Mother of
God be a source of unity for all.
The total collection in the Masses of Our Lady of Guadalupe
was $3900. Thank you!

Comité de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe
Debido a la temprana transmisión del boletín de la pasadas
semanas, no pudimos dar gracias a las muchas personas que
prepararon la celebración de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
La preparación comenzó en Septiembre con las visitas a casas
de feligreses que llevaron la estatua de Nuestra Señora de
Guadalupe. Ellos rezaron el rosario y compartieron reflexiones
de las Escrituras de la Biblia. La estatua permanecía esa noche en el hogar de la familia anfitriona. Al siguiente día, esa
familia llevaba la estatua a casa de la próxima familia anfitriona.
Un grupo de feligreses decoraron el Altar. En las noches previas al
12 de Diciembre, personas vinieron a orar ante el altar. Como tradición, muchos trajeron rosas en recordación de como María arregló
las rosas en el manto de Juan Diego, en el cual dejó la imagen de
ella impresa.
Otros prepararon los programas para la liturgia, especialmente la
música. Otro grupo preparó la Fiesta la cual fue celebrada el 12 de
Diciembre después de la Misa de las 7:30 PM.
Esta fiesta en honor a María es una devoción de nuestra comunidad
Mexicana. Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe es también la Patrona de
toda las Américas. Que nuestra devoción a María, la Madre de Dios,
sea fuente de unidad para todos.
El total de la colecta en las Misas de la Virgen de Guadalupe fue de
$3900. Muchas gracias!
