Circuit de Charade
World-famous Formula 1 racing driver Stirling
Moss said of this: “I don’t know a more wonderful
track than Charade”. You can do as he and many
other legendary figures who have driven this track
have done before, and drive on the old part with
its banked corners. Unforgettable!!

Le Puy de Dôme
It would be unthinkable to do this trip without
climbing to the top of this volcano, which is to
Auvergne what the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. Its 1,465
metre summit looks out over the Chaîne des Puys,
and the 365° view from it is breathtaking. And why
not enjoy going down it as well... by paraglider
pehaps?? Starting in June 2012, a new rack railway
will be able to take you right to the top!

Orcival
La Basilique Notre-Dame d’Orcival: its
magnificent capitals and statue of the Virgin
Mary make this one of the most prestigious
Romanesque churches in Auvergne.
Hidden by Mother Nature, the Chateau de Cordès
is perfectly preserved for visitors; from the chapel, to
the Louis XV furniture, to the gardens designed by
Le Nôtre. Open all year round, from 10 am to 6 pm.

Roches Tuillière et Sanadoire
From the viewpoint indicator, these two volcanoes
appear to loom up from the depths like two
sentries and rise over the valley. Sanadoire owes
its name to the French word “sonner”, as its lava
makes a tinkling noise when 2 pieces are struck
against one another, while Tuillière owes its name
to its columns, which are cut up into sheets, and
which were once used to cover roofs (the French
word for tile maker is “tuilier”).
