2015 Mass Intentions - Since the earliest days, Holy Mass has been offered for the dead. Our prayers, but
especially Holy Mass, assist those who have passed on to attain heaven. Also since its earliest days, the
Church has offered Mass for the intentions of the living, especially the sick. We are now accepting Mass
requests for the calendar year 2016. Many of you ask for Masses to be said regularly for deceased loved
ones, and some ask that these Masses be offered on specific dates. We do our best to accommodate your
requests but ask your patience and understanding in this regard. Since scheduling begins in mid-October, it is
important that requests be received by October 1, 2015. If you would like to be informed of the dates and
times of your scheduled requests please include a self-addressed stamped envelope, a phone number or
email address so that we can contact you. Thank you and God bless you.
Papal Visit Info - As you know our Holy Father will soon be visiting the United States in
conjunction with the World Meeting of Families. To spiritually prepare for our Holy Father’s arrival in the United
States, Bishop Malooly has invited all parishes to hold a Holy Hour on Monday, September 21st, the eve of
Pope Francis’ visit, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. We urge you to bring your family to unite in prayer as we ask God to
bless Pope Francis, grant him a safe and fruitful pastoral visit and pray for the success of the World Meeting of
Families and for our own families. St. Ann’s will hold a Holy Hour of Prayer Monday September 21st from
6:30-7:30pm. We hope to see you there!
A NEW CONCERT AT ST. ANN’S! Join us on Sunday, October 4th for an evening with MARY FAHL, former
lead singer and co-founder of the successful 90’s NYC-based band October Project. Mary has a show coming
up next March for World Café at The Queen but we have her first here at St. Ann’s. An extremely expressive,
unique and dynamic singer, Mary is also an accomplished songwriter, instrumentalist, and storyteller, whose
work draws on everything from her Irish roots to classical and world music, 60’s folk and pop. The cost is
$25.00/person, children from St. Ann’s School free and other children or ages 13-17 $5.00. Get your tickets
now at the rectory or see Fr. Dan. Hear Mary on YouTube or www.maryfahl.com.
St. Ann’s Parish is offering Symbolon; The Catholic Faith Explained – Symbolon features discussion and
video sessions which guide participants through the breadth and richness of the Catholic faith. Sessions will
run for ten weeks, 6:30pm to 8pm each Tuesday evening beginning September 15 – November 17 in St. Ann’s
School Library. Due to limited seating, registration is required. Although the sessions are free, participants are
encouraged to purchase the guide book for $21.00. There is no homework between sessions and participants
may choose to attend some or all of the classes. Registration forms are available in the vestibule of the
church. For info, contact Connie Winner Varone, [email protected] or 302-765-9864.
CHOIR TO RETURN SEPT 13 - The St. Ann’s Adult Choir will make their first appearance on Sunday,
September 13 at the 9:30am mass. Throughout the season, you can expect to hear the choir at various mass
times. We will still keep the 9:30am Sunday mass as our usual mass time, but we will sing at some of the
5:00pm masses on Saturdays and some of the 11:30am masses on Sundays. The choir is always looking
for new members, especially male voices! If you’re interested in coming to a rehearsal, please come on any
Wednesday night at 7:00pm in the choir loft. We would love to see you, even if you don’t read music! -Jordan Irazabal, Director of Music Ministry.

Hospital Visitations – Make sure to call the
Rectory at 654-5519 if you are in the hospital and
would like a priest to visit
Annual Appeal Update – It is difficult to believe
that in a community so vibrant and prosperous as
ours, people young and old alike are hungry,
hopeless and alone with no friends or family to turn
to for help. It is with them in mind that we come
today asking for you to consider supporting the
2015 Annual Catholic Appeal. Giving to the
Annual Catholic Appeal allows each of us the
opportunity to put our faith into action. If you have
not yet offered your support, please consider
making a pledge or a one-time contribution today.
To date, $134,997 has been received representing
95.74% of our parish’s $141,000 goal. Your
generosity is deeply appreciated.
RCIA – The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
Are you interested in learning more about the
Catholic Church? Perhaps you’ve been thinking of
becoming a member of St. Ann Parish, or perhaps
you are just curious about what Catholics believe.
Whether you are not yet baptized, have been
baptized Catholic but never completed the
Sacraments of Initiation (Eucharist and
Confirmation) or have been baptized in another
faith, the RCIA is a process for engaging adults in
the exploration of their own spirituality and the
Catholic faith. We meet regularly on Wednesday
evenings starting in September. If you would like
more information sent or emailed to you, please
contact Pat Walker at [email protected] or
654-8504.
SPONSORS/GODPARENTS To be a godparent for
Baptism, a person must be 16 years or older and a
practicing and fully initiated Catholic, having
completed the sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation and Eucharist. If married, the union
must be recognized by the Catholic Church. One
godparent is required; 2 godparents (one male &
one female) is the ordinary and recommended
practice. Keep in mind the purpose of a sponsor is
to give good example and support in the Catholic
faith of the baptized. Documentation of eligibility for
godparents are required from the Catholic Church
where they are registered and attend weekly mass.
If you have questions, please call (302)654-8504.
The next mandatory Baptism class is Thursday
September 10th at 7pm in St. Ann’s School
Library. To register, please contact the Rectory at
654-5519 or [email protected].
The rectory will be closed Friday
