CONNECTED A paper for the people of Woodburn, Hubbard, Gervais, and Brooks. DataVision’s New Additions November 2012 Crosby Rd., Mountain View Ln., Harmony Ln. DataVision Communications is in the process of building to Crosby Rd., Mountain View Ln., and Harmony Ln. in Woodburn. That means that the people living in these rural areas will be able to receive DataVision’s high-speed fiber optic internet, which has the potential for unlimited speeds. Click here to check it out. GPA Meeting Habitat for Humanity Tuesday, November 6, 7:00 p.m. Meeting held at the Gervais High School library. This is a Gervais High School parent group that runs the concession stand at games and does much more to support Gervais High School students. The North Willamette Valley Habitat for Humanity is in search of a family in Woodburn, Silverton, Mt. Angel, Gervais, Hubbard, Molalla, Scotts Mills, Aurora or Canby. Parents Meeting: Seniors Creating Healthy Communities Monday, November 12, 6:30 p.m. Meeting held in the District Office Conference Room. Parents of seniors are responsible for raising funds for the All Night Drug & Alcohol Free Graduation Party and senior sweatshirts. Click here to check out the flyer. Silverton Health has a couple upcoming events, a screening of the documentary The Weight of the Nation, and a Diabetes Health Fair. The Community Closet is a donation drop off location at the Gervais School District Office currently in need of sweaters, jackets, and shoes for grade school/middle aged students. Receipts can be provided for your donation for tax purposes. In addition, the Douglas Avenue Alternative School accepts donated items considered “career wear” that the students can use to interview or job shadow. Pumpkin Souffle Ingredients 1 tablespoon(s) cold unsalted butter 1/4 cup(s) granulated sugar 1 tablespoon(s) granulated sugar 3/4 cup(s) pumpkin puree 1 cup(s) packed brown sugar 5 large eggs, room temperature 1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon 1 teaspoon(s) ginger 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground nutmeg 1 teaspoon(s) cream of tartar Confectioners' sugar, optional Directions 1. Heat oven to 375 F. Grease 6 (6-oz) soufflé dishes or ramekins with butter. Coat dishes with the 1 Tbsp granulated sugar. Refrigerate dishes until ready to fill. 2. In a large bowl, whisk pumpkin, brown sugar, egg yolks, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. 3. In a large bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peak form. Gradually beat in the 1/4 cup granulated sugar on high speed until stiff peaks form. Stir one fourth of the whites into the pumpkin mixture. Fold in remaining whites, in thirds. Fill prepared dishes to the top; set on a baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until firm around the edges.
