MASTER OF MARKETING
FRANCHISING AND NETWORK MANAGEMENT
Course overview
Do you know 7 Eleven, APEF Services, Avis Immobilier,
Best Western, Biocoop, Burger King, Cache-Cache,
Calzedonia, Cartridge World, Century 21, Chawla Chicken,
Colchões Ortobom, Day Inn, Der Bek, Dunkin’ Donuts, E.
Leclerc, Falabella , Gloria Jean’s Coffees, Home Inn, Ibis,
Intersport, Jacques Dessange, KFC, Krys, La City, Mango,
Marriott, McDonald’s, Midas, Morgan, NordSee , O2 Home
Services, O Boticário, Pizza Hut, Subway, Supercuts, Super
U, WSI, Yves Rocher…? All these brands have something in
common: they are organized as networks!
Do you know that franchising has been constantly growing
for many years? There are more than 2.5 million franchised
units worldwide (European Franchise Federation, 2010).
For instance, in the United States, there are more than
2,200 networks, including 757,055 franchised units,
responsible for 8,300,000 jobs and generating 802 billion
dollars of turnover (PricewaterhouseCoopers, 2013). In
Europe as well, franchising is particularly developed with
about 555,009 franchised units. In France for example,
there are 1,658 franchisors and 65,059 franchised units
with 50.68 billion euros of turnover (French Franchise
Federation, 2013). Also in France, independent associated
retailing is composed of 80 groups, corresponding to 145
networks, with a total of 41,218 units and 138.2 billion
euros of turnover (Federation of French independent
associated retailers, 2013).
Do you know that networks offer a wide range of diversified
career opportunities, in particular in the marketing,
(marketing of the brand, merchandising, external and
internal communication, community management),
management (on-field consulting, franchisee training,
sales events management) and development (franchisee
recruitment, store location, real estate prospection)
areas? Do you want to discover this sector and acquire
the necessary skills to get a job in franchising, retail or
service chains, in France or in any country of the world, or
to pursue your studies with a Ph.D. ? Join us in the Master
Marketing - Franchising and Network Management!
