INSIDE OUT/OUTSIDE IN – Intensive Development Seminar for screen professionals with US creative producers Meg LeFauve and Sheila Hanahan Taylor Screen NSW, with principal partner Screen Australia, event partner Vivid Sydney, and strategic partner Sydney Film Festival, is presenting INSIDE OUT/OUTSIDE IN, an intensive film development seminar with respected US producers and developers Meg LeFauve and Sheila Hanahan Taylor. The 3-‐day seminar for industry professionals working in NSW will focus on the strategy, creativity and craft of developing compelling feature films. LeFauve and Hanahan Taylor will interrogate the development of a script, first from the “Inside Out” – thematic, character, emotional drive, plot – and then from the “Outside In” – trailers, posters, audience, marketplace, financing, showing the impact of every decision. After laying out their development philosophy, they will apply their approach to crafting effective thrillers. Both based in Los Angeles, Meg LeFauve and Sheila Hanahan Taylor, are working producers with years of experience in the US studio and indie film worlds. Hanahan Taylor most recently Executive Produced Final Destinations 5 – which grossed over $160million worldwide, and has produced or collaborated on numerous studio films, including Cats and Dogs and the American Pie franchise. LeFauve, an advisor at the Sundance lab, is the former president of Jodie Foster’s Egg Pictures, and her films have been nominated for a Golden Globe, an Emmy and an IFP Spirit Award. INSIDE OUT/OUTSIDE IN will be held on Monday June 4 and Tuesday June 5 at the Vivid Ideas Exchange, at the Museum of Contemporary Art and, on Wednesday June 6, at MLC Centre. The seminar is a collaboration with Vivid Sydney 2012’s Vivid Ideas, an 18-‐day program of public and industry events that will focus on creative ideas, discussion and collaboration. The seminar is FREE but places are strictly limited. To register your interest, contact [email protected] between May 7 and 17.
