KING CRAB – Alaska Crab can only be found by going to great lengths. For Alaska King, that
can be as far as 200 miles out in the frigid Bering Sea during extreme winter conditions. The
largest members of the entire crab family, Alaska Kings typically weigh between 5-8 pounds, with
the largest on record weighing 25 pounds. They are harvested from the frigid ocean floor of the
North Pacific and Bering Sea from November through February, and during brief periods in July
and September. Known for their succulent meat, Alaskan Kings are sought the world over with a
vast majority going to Japan.
