YEARS
329008
Tarkett Sommer is one of the world’s leading and most experienced floorcovering
manufacturers. For more than 110 years, we have produced new flooring materials
based on market realities. We have looked, listened, tested and developed. This has
given us great experience and expertise in most types of flooring materials : resilient
heterogeneous flooring, resilient homogeneous flooring, natural floorings like linoleum
and wood, polyolefin flooring, laminate flooring, textile flooring, wood flooring
and wetroom floor-and wall coverings. This makes us virtually unique in being able
to offer practically all types of floorcovering solutions.

RANGE
The technology of linoleum manufacture is well over a hundred years old with the original
patent dating back to 1863. At Tarkett Sommer at our Narni plant near Rome we have
continued to rejuvenate Linoleum for more than a century now, experiencing generations of
change and improvement with the most recent innovations realised with this new collection.
Tarkett Sommer’s policy has always been to improve and to keep on improving.
In with the new
Our latest research efforts have led to new investment, improving our production techniques
to achieve an even more flexible feel and a smoother surface to our Linoleum products.
A matter of choice
Extensive market research has also enabled us to develop and revitalize our Veneto
range of colours.
The overall idea has been to create—especially for the Education, Healthcare and Housing
sectors—a complete Linoleum Collection which combines our Veneto, Etrusco, Toscano,
Trentino and Narnidur ranges to offer you a virtually unlimited spectrum of possibilities.
Naturally good
The natural raw materials we use in the manufacture of our Linoleums has to be the healthy
answer for floors. No harsh ingredients, no aggressive chemicals.
Our smoother, easy-to-clean surface discourages bacteria and eliminates dust mites.
It’s not only ideal for hospitals and clinics… we hope you’ll welcome our Linoleum’s hygiene
credentials for schools and housing projects too. Certainly the people who use them will.
Environmental recognition
Tarkett Sommer has for several years held the Swan award, the highly respected Nordic
SIS Eco label for the environment. Recently we have also succeeded in obtaining the German
environmental label Blaue Engel—the leading worldwide tag endorsing environmentally
friendly products.
ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
Tarkett Sommer also complies with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
and ISO 9001 Quality Assurance System—international seals of approval that assure
you outstanding quality.
For all of these reasons we are confident that when you experience our New Linoleum for
yourself it’ll earn your seal of approval too.

What’s new for you
F L O O R S D E D IC AT E D TO T H E WAY YO U W O R K ? A B S O L U T E LY !
We know that your role as an Architect, Interior Designer, Procurement Manager or Flooring
Contractor on major projects such as hospitals, schools or housing developments is a major
responsibility and we are here to assist you with your specific flooring requirements.
What’s unique about Tarkett Sommer is that we meet those requirements by focusing on
manufacturing our Linoleum to provide you with solutions that are specific to your particular
demanding application.
Education, healthcare, housing
We are committed to producing a floorcovering that helps you achieve your goals with
an extensive collection of inspiring colours and original designs aimed to enhance almost
any commercial or institutional interior.
Today modern hospitals and schools are no longer the grey, colourless places they used to be,
and this revived collection will help you to create a warm and welcoming environment.
Design and colour influence our performance and it has been proven they assist in promoting
health and well-being. Similarly with schools concentration is maximised when students feel
comfortable and relaxed in their surroundings. Our goal at Tarkett Sommer is to produce
harmonious solutions that incorporate these characteristics to help you create better
environments worldwide.
Looks good, acts tough
In a hospital the focus is on hygiene – our New Linoleum’s smoother surface enables easier
cleaning essential in healthcare. At the same time you’ll find our product ranges provide
everything you need to create the kind of harmonious environment that actually helps
in the healing process.
In schools we focus on engineering our Linoleum floorcoverings to provide a product
tough enough to withstand the daily demands of school life – heavy foot traffic, furniture
movement and daily cleaning. And, equally important, capable of producing a stimulating
environment for pupils and teachers alike.
For housing projects our main consideration is design and colour, everything it takes
to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Together with a practical benefit:
our smoother surface reduces cleaning to a minimum.
Staying dedicated
Whatever the application we engineer our New Linoleum to meet specific requirements.
Yours—and the end user’s. Our floors are dedicated to the way you work. So are we.

What’s new, what’s not
A LWAY S C H A N G I N G , A LWAY S P R O G R E S S I N G , A LWAY S T H E SA M E
With our new modern production plant in Narni, near Rome, we have advanced the state
of the art to meet everything you might require from a Linoleum floorcovering. We have
enhanced our production techniques to create a product that complies with today’s more
stringent standards to provide outstanding performance, whilst still employing the same
traditional methods and raw materials that have been used for more than 100 years.
Traditional performance
Tarkett Sommer’s unique, tried and trusted construction of homogeneous Linoleum—one
single layer all the way through—guarantees that the designs and colours are consistent
throughout the thickness of the product, which ensures your floor remains looking good
for its entire lifetime.
Whilst the natural raw materials in our New Linoleum provide the product with a number
of natural properties, such as excellent sound absorption.
At Tarkett Sommer we engineer the materials with your precise application in mind.
We have improved the surface to achieve a product that is more flexible, smoother
and easier to handle—new qualities that make it even easier to install and maintain.
All of which makes our New Linoleum a really high performance flooring solution.
Resistant, durable and safe
Our New Linoleum is designed for medium to heavy traffic. It resists scratches
and cigarette burns and has excellent resistance to indentation. And it is an extremely
durable floorcovering product, which makes it an excellent long-term investment.
Italian style
For our designs and colour ranges, extensive market research has enabled us to develop
and revitalize the palette of colours for our Veneto range. Inspired as we always are by the
richness of Italian art, design, fashion and architecture.
All of which explains why our New Linoleum isn’t revolutionary. Simply evolutionary.
Today we offer you a greater choice of colours and designs than ever before to enhance
all commercial interiors from modern contemporary to warm and traditional.
Friendlier floors
Our New Linoleum is friendly, both to people and to the environment. All the natural raw
materials come from renewable sources. And our production plant minimises its impact
on the environment by using production waste both in the production process and in energy
recovery.
As a result we’ve been awarded the Swan and Blaue Engel ecology labels. International
recognition for respecting and protecting the environment.
