ERIC SOMMER
Urban poet,accomplished singer and songwriter ERIC SOMMER has a slide style
echoing the great traditional styles of
David Bromberg and Johnny Winter, but
with a vocal style all his own. He solos
onstage with his three beautiful Taylor
guitars - the 410 Koa Series, the 814
dreadnought, a 915 Concert Series with
remarkable pearl inlay up and down the
neck and a worn, vintage 1969 Fender
Telecaster with the original Bigsby tremelo
bar.
Before all this success though, Sommer
grew up in Boston, a fixture in the guitar
clubs on Charles Street and a regular in
Harvard Square, where he played guitar
This entuhusiam opened opportunities to
be part of some great music, and ERIC
SOMMER has played on tours with the
best of the best: John Mayall, Little Feat
and Lowell George, Buddy Guy, Dave Van
Ronk, David Bromberg, Leon Redbone,
the Dead Kennedys, John Hammond,
Randy Hanson, Wrekless Eric, Spider John
Koerner, Brahm Tschaikovsky, the Byrds,
Dr. John, and many, many more.
He now enjoys fame and widespread
recognition along the East Coast and
throughout the midwest. His fans pack
into house concerts, festivals, outdoor
events and small rock rooms to catch
another performance by this new star.
Sommer brings a cool and memorable
combo of acoustic ballads, flashy slide
guitar and his trademark urban rock to his
always unpredicatable performances.
