North London, provided the unlikely setting for a practice
match between IC and an England XI on Wednesday
afternoon. Despite getting lost, the IC squad arrived
"Good work-out for the
boys"-Revie
before the England team.
According

this

qualifying

Finland

The

Cado Belle in concert at the Red Cow in Hammersmith
I ' V E S E E N t h i s b a n d perform on no l e s s
than e i g h t o c c a s i o n s d u r i n g the j a s t
three m o n t h s . I w a s k n o c k e d out the f i r s t
time I h e a r e d t h e m , but a m a z i n g l y they
s e e m t o improve w i t h e v e r y g i g . L a s t w e e k
at the R e d C o w i n H a m m e r s m i t h R o a d
they p u l l e d off one of the b e s t g i g s
I've s e e n i n many a l o n g d a y .
T h e r e ' s no real doubt about i t , i f
g o o d m u s i c s t i l l c o u n t s for a n y t h i n g
these d a y s , then C a d o B e l l e w i l l make
some i m p a c t — t h i n g s are b e g i n n i n g to
h a p p e n for the band at l a s t . T h e y ' v e
just signed a lucrative contract with
A n c h o r R e c o r d s , w i t h j u s t about e v e r y
other major record c o m p a n y c l a m m e r i n g
for them to put their name on the d o t t e d
line.
T h e s i x - p i e c e band h a i l from G l a s g o w ,
that s e e m i n g l y e n d l e s s c a u l d r o n o f r a w
t a l e n t . T h e y feature the sure s a x and
and flute of C o l i n T u l l y the o r i g i n a l
g u i t a r p l a y i n g of A l a n D a r b y , the tightarse drumming of D a v y R o y , the s u b t l e
k e y b o a r d work o f Stuart M c K i l l o p , the
f i n e s i n g i n g of M a g g i e R e i l l y a n d the
brilliance of bass player G a v i n Hodgson.

w r i t t e n a s they are t i g h t l y p e r f o r m e d .
