We apologize for the error. As we all know the cost of everything is increasing these days. For the past four years Oklahoma Biker’s advertisers have paid for this publication entirely. Due to increased production and delivery costs our staff determined we either had to raise our 5 advertising rates, or begin charging a nominal fee for the ragazine. Since businesses are failing at record numbers today (Planetbiker, The Ride, Thunder Roads Arkansas), we decided not to increase our ad rates. Instead we will charge a $1.50 per copy beginning with the Jan/Feb 2009 issue. I am sure we will lose some distributors because they will not want to collect the $1.50 per copy; however, I am just as certain we will pickup some additional distributors that currently do not offer Oklahoma Biker to their customers. Over time I believe they will offset one another. The one thing we cannot afford to lose - is your readership. Hopefully, you see enough value in Oklahoma Biker to pay $1.50 for it. If not, you can always read it free at www.oklahomabiker. net. Thank you in advance for your continued support and readership of Oklahoma Biker the Riders Ragazine! It makes you truly thankful for not only the Marines, but ALL of our troops. THE MARINE We all came together, Both young and old To fight for our freedom, To stand and be bold. In the midst of all evil, We stand our ground, And we protect our country From all terror around. Peace and not war, Is what some people say. But I’ll give my life, So you can live the American way. I give you the right To talk of your peace. To stand in your groups, and protest in our streets. But still I fight on, I don’t bitch, I don’t whine. I’m just one of the people Who is doing your time. I’m harder than nails, Stronger than any machine. I’m the immortal soldier, I’m a U.S. MARINE! So stand in my shoes, And leave from your home. Fight for the people who hate you, With the protests they’ve shown. Fight for the stranger, Fight for the young. So they all may have, The greatest freedom you’ve won . Fight for the sick, Fight for the poor Fight for the cripple, Who lives next door. But when your time comes, Do what I’ve done. For if you stand up for freedom, You’ll stand when the fight’s done . OKLAHOMA BIKER RAG AMERICAN HERO RIDE WINS DOCUMENTARY OF THE YEAR Every year, the Eagles Nest IMB’s (Independant Misfit Bikers) make an annual trip from Tulsa to the VA Hospital Spinal Injury Center in Memphis, TN. The trip takes place over the Memorial Day Weekend, so they can honor our veterans, visit with them, and try to raise money for their needs. This year, Miracle! Pictures went along for the ride. We took the 400-mile trip because we’re veterans ourselves, and seeing the need, we wanted to help the cause. Saturday, October 4th... We premiered the film at the 7th Annual Script-2-Screen film festival in Tulsa, knowing that 90 minutes later they’d love us or kill us. No pressure, right? Sunday, October 5th... The American Hero Ride took home the gold. We won Best Documentary, Script-2-Screen 2008, beating out 5 other films for the title; including one from ‘political activist’ Michael Moore. The Republican spokesman replied, ‘That’s because McCain’s supporters are at work.’ One Sunday morning, the pastor noticed little Randy standing in the foyer of the church staring up at a large plaque. It was covered with names and small American flags mounted on either side of it. The six-year old had been staring at the plaque for some time, so the pastor walked up, stood beside the little boy, and said quietly, ‘Good morning Randy.’ ‘Good morning Pastor,’ he replied, still focused on the plaque. ‘Pastor, what is this?’ The pastor said, ‘Well son, it’s a memorial to all the young men and women who died in the service.’ Soberly, they just stood together, staring at the large plaque. Finally, little Randy’s voice, barely audible and trembling with fear asked, ‘Which service, the 8:30 or the 10:45?’ I was depressed last night so I called Lifeline.
