Climb La Malinche Volcano
Climb La Malinche Volcano
Day
1
Mexico City – La Malinche
In the morning you are picked up around 8:00am from the bus
station, airport or your hotel and make your way towards
Puebla. The next two days are devoted to nature and hiking, as
you will climb the approximately 4,500m high volcano La
Malinche. This volcano has been inactive for around 3,100
years and was named for the Indigenous mistress and
interpreter for the Spanish conqueror Herman Cortez. In order
to prepare for the ascent an acclimatization hike takes place
on the first day to get used to the altitude. Afterwards relax
and spend the night in a charming Cabaña at the base camp.
Overnight stay. (Meals: Dinner at the cabin)
Day
2
La Malinche – Mexico City
Day two starts very early to take advantage of the cool
morning weather and after a 4-5 hour climb you finally reach
the summit where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the
surrounding volcanoes Popcatepetl, Iztaccihuatl, Pico de
Orizaba and the sprawling valley. Relax and explore the unique
landscape of the caldera. After the two hour descent you are,
depending on the rest of your vacation, brought to your hotel,
the airport or the bus station. (Meals: Breakfast at the
