Climb La Malinche Volcano Day 1 Mexico City – La Malinche In the morning you are picked up around 8:00am from the bus station, airport or your hotel and make your way towards Puebla. The next two days are devoted to nature and hiking, as you will climb the approximately 4,500m high volcano La Malinche. This volcano has been inactive for around 3,100 years and was named for the Indigenous mistress and interpreter for the Spanish conqueror Herman Cortez. In order to prepare for the ascent an acclimatization hike takes place on the first day to get used to the altitude. Afterwards relax and spend the night in a charming Cabaña at the base camp. Overnight stay. (Meals: Dinner at the cabin) Day 2 La Malinche – Mexico City Day two starts very early to take advantage of the cool morning weather and after a 4-5 hour climb you finally reach the summit where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding volcanoes Popcatepetl, Iztaccihuatl, Pico de Orizaba and the sprawling valley. Relax and explore the unique landscape of the caldera. After the two hour descent you are, depending on the rest of your vacation, brought to your hotel, the airport or the bus station.
