Once again, thank you to Harry Ohde and principal, Kevin Powers, for co-chairing the parish picnic. It was a great event! Again, thanks also to the SMOS Alumni Association for underwriting most of the expenses. We will again have the picnic next summer on the parish grounds since it proved to be beneficial to all of us. There was something for everyone! This is the last weekend in the current fiscal year. Thank you for your generous support of the church this past year. Next week, I will give you a sense of how much revenue was collected from our Sunday tithes and offerings. As we begin Fiscal Year ’17 next weekend, please continue to be as generous. We have been able to complete a number of projects because of your love for this church! I hope you have been noticing the repairs and improvements in our facilities! Thank you to the Women’s Club for the generous donations given to the church, school, food pantry, and the SMOS Chapter of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Ladies, we are truly grateful to you for remembering us all in such a special way! As we move into the summer months, please be mindful of “dress code” for Sunday worship. The Scripture says, “Come as you are,” but we also need to be mindful of where we are and what we are doing and that we do not offend anyone’s sensibilities. It’s not the Pastor’s responsibility to police one’s dress code, so I ask that you be mindful of this. Thanks for your understanding. As we enter into the summer months and you plan to take summer vacations or weekend get-a-ways, please do not forget the Church! The Church depends on your weekly tithes and offerings to meet its expenses. Please mail them to the Parish Office or choose the online giving link on the parish website to fulfill your responsibility. We have been able to do much needed work on our buildings this year due to your diligence in giving. Thank you for being faithful stewards of your precious resources! The Beverly Hills Junior Woman’s Club (General Federation of Women's Clubs) wanted to take this opportunity to update all of you who donated to our luggage drive for foster children last fall. In May, we were honored to be one of ten projects chosen through USA Today’s “Make A Difference Day” to receive a $10,000 grant from Newman’s Own to our chosen charity. We were happy to deliver that grant to Children’s Home and Aid family service agency to continue their work helping to improve the lives of foster children. Thank you for your overwhelming support! Email [email protected] or visit our Facebook page for pictures from the award luncheon. Gluten-free hosts are now available at all Masses at St. Margaret of Scotland. If you need to receive a gluten-free host, please let Fr. Paul know, if possible, before Mass. SCHOOL REGISTRATION for the next school year has begun. Tours are being offered any day of the week for anyone interested in seeing the school. Financial aid is available for families who qualify. Any questions, contact Mr. Powers, the principal, at 773-238-1088. SPREAD THE WORD: The St. Margaret of Scotland Food Pantry is open every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
