Sa peinture est certifiée depuis 2008 par la « Cambridge Expertise », spécialisée dans l’expertise des oeuvres d’art contemporain Gyslaine exposera notamment au Spectrum de Miami du 3 au 7 décembre et à la Galerie Monod de Paris du 5 au 17 janvier 2015. www.pachet-micheneau.com Lumière - 73x50cm page 46 • art & design Artist Profile Gyslaine Pachet Micheneau “Creating is a true moment of happiness, then come the moments of doubt and questioning, because part of me is on the canvas that I just created.” G yslaine Pachet Micheneau was born in 1960 in a small village of Charente Maritime (France). Artist Statement My landscapes, between Realism and Impressionism represent a nature quite real, painted outdoors during a plein air session, or in the studio with a more technical research from photographic material that I create myself. The art of the landscape is for me an invitation to reflection on space and time. In 1997 I started with watercolor, attracted by the sweetness of tones, and then oil or acrylic which allows me to express my vision of nature best before using other techniques. Brighter colors which I like to use to paint the light, transparency and reflections of the water, and create different atmospheres. My favorite subjects are terrestrial or marine landscapes. I also paint flowers and poppies – the color attracts me. I like to participate in exhibitions in the street or in public places where I can be in contact with people who like art. It is thanks to them that I am always changing, because we share thoughts about my painting and what it means. I explain that for me a poppy represents sensitivity and freedom, because this flower cannot be put in vase – it immediately fades. n For more information, visit her website at: www pachet-micheneau.com Top: Joy of the ocean (Joie de l’océan), 2011, Acrylic, 92 x 60 cm Left: Survey of the day (Levé du jour), 2011, Oil, 65 x 50 cm 70 New York City Road (Chemin de traverse), 2008, Oil, 55 x 46 cm Red passion (Rouge passion), 2010, Oil, 61 x50 cm Snow landcsape (Paysage de neige), 2010, Oil, 73 x 50 cm www.pachet-micheneau.com | [email protected] | +33(0)2 47 26 65 78 Fall 2012 71
