From the editor
The Tourist Office of Gravelines and the banks of the
River Aa and Colme celebrate their 25th birthday in
2014!
On the 1st of January our area expanded to include the
towns of: Bourbourg, Brouckerque, Cappellebrouck,
Craywick, Drincham, Grand-Fort Philippe, Gravelines,
Holque, Looberghe, Loon-Plage, Millam, Saint Georges
sur l’Aa, Saint Momelin, Saint Pierrebrouck, Spycker,
Watten and Wulverdinghe. We then became known as
the Tourist Office of Gravelines and banks of the River
Aa and Colme.
Spotlight on the new tourist office in Gravelines! Next
September, it will move to the old Maison du Patrimoine
in the rue Léon Blum from its current location in the
rue de la République. Its modern, uncluttered interior
will be digitalised and new tools made available for
visitors to use. This initiative is designed to improve our
response to your needs.
The Tourist Office is introducing a wide range of unusual,
innovative and original products for individual visitors...

The Bell Tower
The bell tower of the Church of Saint Jean-Baptiste
offers a panoramic view of the town of Bourbourg
and surrounding countryside. The 50 bells chime automatically, or by the pulls of the bell-ringer, marking
the rhythm of the lives of people living in the city of
Gédéon.

pieces of work by English artist, Anthony Caro. Come

of both contemporary and sacred art.

Museum of Design and Original Engraving
Housed in the powder room of Château-Arsenal, built
by Charles Quint from 1528, the regularly updated
permanent exhibition, «Estampes Collection» will take
you on a journey to discover the world of engraving.
Presses, tools, demonstrations and videos provide
an introduction to a form of art which is as much a
display of craftsmanship. This museum is the only one
in France totally dedicated to the skill of engraving.
Its collection of art, exhibitions, teaching workshops,
library, artists-in-residence, and publications make this
an unmissable place to visit. Each exhibition shows
the versatility of engraving, as well as its dynamic
and contemporary nature. The latest production and
image-pressing techniques ensure a very healthy
future for this art, which is both intimate and generous
in nature.

Immerse yourself in the equestrian world on this
farm set in 13 hectares of parkland. Come and see
horses, ponies and farm animals, including hens, pigs,
peacocks, sheep, llamas, geese and ducks. Riding
lessons are available for all levels from age 4, and more
experienced riders can go pony-trekking or horseriding.
