Weekday times Sunday: Tefillin beginners class, including breakfast Monday and Thursday Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8.00 am 6.30 am 6.45 am FAREWELL MESSAGE FROM OUR HESDER BACHURIM Parashat Va'etchanan commences with Moshe reminding Am Yisrael of the time he pleaded to Hashem to let him enter the Land of Israel. Moshe prayed and begged to Hashem, but Hashem did not change His mind, only allowing him to see Eretz Yisrael from above, but not to set foot in The Land itself. Immediately following this discussion, the focus immediately switches to finding an appropriate successor for Moshe, and Yehoshua is chosen. Once Hashem gave His final word on the matter, rather than wallow in self-pity or concentrate on his own demise, Moshe’s major concern was to care for the people and their continued success. Moshe’s response to completing his journey in this world teaches us a great lesson. Sometimes journeys must come to an end and we will not always merit to witness the full fruition of our endeavours. Particularly in the world of education, we plant seeds and nourish saplings, but never fully know how or when they will flourish. From Moshe we learn that our focus should not solely be on our personal contributions or achievements, but ensuring the long-term success of the greater goal. Our journey in Melbourne is coming to an end and we feel privileged to have played a role in the continuous successes of Kollel Torah Mitzion in Melbourne. We have met so many amazing people – in Mizrachi, Leibler Yavneh College and Bnei Akiva, who will always be part of our lives, as we hope to be part of theirs. We arrived during the renovation of the Beit Midrash and enjoyed the challenge of filling the beautifully refurbished space with the sound and atmosphere of Torah. And now it's the time for us to move on, and to make space for the next "leaders" to come and take our places. It has been an awesome experience for us, and we are certain you will make it as awesome for them as well. On that note, we would like to thank some important people. Rabbi Mirvis, thank you for bringing us with you to this community from the other side of the world and having the faith in us to do the job well. Your guidance and support, together with Althea's, were unbelievable and made this year the amazing year it has been. Lots of luck in your new role! Thank you, Rae Bower, for always taking care of us. Your kindness is truly boundless and all the tremendous things you've done for us are surely not taken for granted! To the Lotzoff family, thank you for opening your home and hearts, and making sure we are always superbly organized. And of course our beloved host families; the Cohens, Elbaums, Joels and Rubinsteins, thank you for spoiling, welcoming us as one of your own and for being our homes away from home! And to the entire Mizrachi community - we will miss you all deeply. See you soon in Israel! Simcha Dance Classes Feel like a fish out of water no longer! A four-week course covering Simcha dancing basics at the beginner level through to all the popular dances, and culminating in instruction of more complicated circle and line dances.
