Dear Valued Customer,
Our mission statement begins out as “The mission of New Peoples Bank is to provide high
quality, state of the art, Golden Rule Banking services…” There is more to our mission
statement, but when it comes to how we serve you, this encapsulates it all. The key principle
in our mission is Golden Rule Banking.
Some may ask what is Golden Rule Banking? Is it the belief that we have the gold, so we
make the rules? Well, there is some merit to that; but there is a deeper meaning to it, one that
dictates the manner in which we strive to serve our customers.
The Golden Rule basically is the idea that people should treat others in the same way that
they themselves would like to be treated…"Do unto others as you would have them do unto
you." It is the highest form of service that a person can offer, because it is serving with the
same desire that we would like to be served.
We believe that our Golden Rule approach sets us apart from our competition, because the key differentiating factor we
offer to our customers is the degree of quality service that we provide. We strive for excellence to serve you.
An acrostic to help you understand the Golden standard that we aim for in serving you is as follows:
G - Give first priority to the customer. Our customers are why we are here. We are here to help them with their financial needs. We
will greet them promptly, respond promptly to their questions, calls, emails, etc. and strive to make them feel like they are number 1,
because they are.
O - Own the relationship. In the role that our employees serve at the bank, we develop and cultivate relationships. We see the relationship
with our customers as our responsibility to develop and grow so that our customer has a banker that is concerned about their
concerns and can help to meet their financial needs. In owning the relationship, we understand our role. Our role is to help our
customers by knowing them, knowing what our customer needs, knowing the services and products that we offer and knowing our
jobs well. We continually seek to gain the knowledge that is needed to develop a deeper relationship with our customers so that their
financial needs are met.
L - Listen well. We strive to listen to what the customer is saying, or not saying. When we listen to their needs, we will know how best
to respond and to serve them.
D - Deliver. Deliver what they need promptly, correctly, and efficiently. We will keep our promises, manage expectations and deliver
what our customers need. We care about the finished product that we are providing to our customer and deliver it so that they are
completely satisfied.
Encourage.
We aim to encourage our customers by being positive and uplifting, wherein we keep a positive outlook and cultivate an

atmosphere that the customer is comfortable and satisfied. We offer nearly everything that the larger banks do and we will
encourage our customers to use our other services as they relate to their needs. We even offer insurance services and financial
services. We want to encourage our customers to make us their primary financial service provider in all of these areas.
N- Never forget to say “Thank You.” We will not neglect to express our appreciation for the customer doing business with us. We truly
appreciate their business.
