STATIONS OF THE CROSS EACH FRIDAY OF LENT FEB. 12-MAR. 18 5:30PM ENGLISH 7:30PM SPANISH (Banquet Room) 8:00PM CREOLE FISH FRIES - SAVE THE DATES (after the 5:30 Stations) Feb. 12th, Feb. 26th, Mar. 11th ST. ANN JUSTICE MINISTRY “None of us can think we are exempt from concern for the poor and for social justice.” - POPE FRANCIS Our St. Ann Justice Ministry is working hard to engage our church community in this biblical requirement to do justice! We now have over 100 church members who have committed to be members of our Justice Ministry Network. There will be a very important meeting of our St. Ann Justice Ministry Network on Thursday, February 11th at 7 pm, in the Banquet Room. We will be hearing exciting updates around our PEACE issues, and getting organized to be able to turn out 450 from our church to the PEACE Nehemiah Action on March 14th. We look forward to seeing all committed Network Members in attendance, as well as anyone else who wishes to join us in doing justice! REDISCOVER JESUS …… AN INVITATION This past Christmas, we were blessed to receive free copies of the book Rediscover Jesus by Matthew Kelly, and distributed them to our parishioners. This Lent, Matthew Kelly’s Dynamic Catholic Institute is offering a free email program called “Best Lent Ever”, based on Rediscover Jesus. If you sign up for it at www.DynamicCatholic.com/Lent , each day you will receive an inspirational email with a short video featuring Matthew and a member of the Dynamic Catholic Team. They will guide you through each of the 40 chapters in Rediscover Jesus and share simple ways to bring Jesus into your everyday life. PAGE 4 ADULT FAITH MINISTRY Program for Lent Lenten Nourishment—Wednesdays: Feb. 17 through Mar. 16, 12:30-12:55pm Join us for a light lunch and spiritual talk on the patio next to church. We continue with the theme of mercy during the Year of Mercy. The Parables of Mercy—Mondays: Feb. 22 through Mar. 15, 78:00pm “Be merciful as the Father is merciful!” How can we do that? By spending some time examining the “parables of mercy” in the Gospels, like the sinful woman, the Good Samaritan, and the Prodigal Son. We can find ways that Jesus calls us to share the mercy of God with the people we encounter in our daily lives. The sessions will include discussion and prayer time. Sessions held in the conference Room in parking garage. Scripture Study: The book of Revelation-Tuesdays, Feb. 23 through Mar. 8, 7-8:30pm Many people enjoyed Fr. Bill Burton’s introduction to sacred scripture last fall. During Lent we will be using Fr. Bill’s excellent DVD to uncover the complex themes of the fascinating and often confusing book of the bible, and discover what it really is calling us to live today in the 21st century. Sessions will include time for questions and discussion, Sessions held in the Ministry Room. Please sign up for any of the above programs by calling 561 630-0287 or email [email protected]. Our Catholic community in the United States does something amazing each Lent. Through prayers, fasting and almsgiving, we give families around the world the tools they need to rise above poverty and provide for themselves— and their communities. We might call it the “CRS Rice Bowl effect.” And this year, we’re at it again. CRS Rice Bowl provides resources to bring Lenten spirituality to life for families, parish and school communities, while continuing to connect Catholics in our Diocese with our brothers and sisters in need around the world. Bishop Barbarito invites all families in our parish and school to an enriched Lenten journey through CRS Rice Bowl. Together, we’ll make this year’s CRS Rice Bowl effect greater than ever. Rice Bowls will be available in the church on Ash Wednesday. Parish Rosary Group will pray the Holy Rosary each Sun. after 10:45 AM in the Church. If you would like to volunteer as a Rosary Leader please call Mike McDonald at 561-809-9588. ST. MARTIN MISSION The progress on the rebuilding of St. Martin is coming along nicely. Please see the photos of the progress on the poster at the entrance of the church. However, our commitment to St. Martin continues: we are committed to pay for teachers at the school on an ongoing basis, as well as general maintenance at the facility. We ask that you pray about how you may be able to help with this ongoing endeavor. In the words of Mother Theresa, “We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.” Please make your checks out to St. Ann Church, with “St. Martin” written on the memo line. ST. ANN PARISH YEAR OF CONSECRATED LIFE As the Year for Consecrated Life draws to a close, Bishop Barbarito will honor the event by conducting a Holy Hour on Feb. 7, 2016 at 2:30pm at Mary Immaculate Church.
