Sacrament of Reconciliation Did you know that you have more opportunity for Confession at Divine Mercy? Yes, during this Holy Year of Mercy, there is the Sacrament of Reconciliation one hour prior to Mass, except on Sundays. Universal: Respect for Women. That in every country of the world, women may be honored and respected, and that their essential contribution to society may be highly esteemed. Evangelization: The Holy Rosary. That families, communities, and groups may pray the Holy Rosary for evangelization and peace. For the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Bishop Jaime Soto has designated 12 Pilgrimage sites. Paired with the sites is either a Corporal or Spiritual Work of Mercy. Partial and plenary indulgences can be earned for both pilgrimage and/or practice. If you plan to make a pilgrimage to one of these sites, it is recommended that you call one week in advance to schedule a time to visit. Afterwards, you will receive a sticker of the pilgrimage site to place in your passport either from the pilgrimage site or here at Divine Mercy Parish. 1. The Holy See has given this devotion a high place of importance in the Church due not only to the requests of Jesus to St. Margaret Mary but also to the soundness of the doctrine and its timeliness in rekindling love and trust in the Merciful Heart of Our Savior. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. ntifex Pope Francis @Po “Each of us can be a bridge of encounter between diverse cultures and religions, a way to rediscover our common humanity .” SAINTS AND READINGS OF THE WEEK SOLEMNITY OF THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST Sunday, May 29 GN 14:18-20/ PS 110:1, 2, 3, 4/ 1 COR 11:2326/ JN 6:51/ LK 9:11B-17 Monday, May 30 St. Joan of Arc 2 PT 1:2-7/ PS 91:1-2, 14-15B, 15C-16/ RV 1:5AB/ MK 12:1-12 Tuesday, May 31 VISITATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY ZEP 3:14-18A or ROM 12:9-16/ ISAIAH 12:2-3, 4BCD, 5-6/ LK 1:45/ LK 1:39-56 Wednesday, June 1 St. Justin 2 TM 1:1-3, 6-12/ PS 123:1B-2AB, 2CDEF/ JN 11:25A, 26/ MK 12:18-27 Thursday, June 2 Sts. On that day He asked for a solemn act of reparation for all the offenses heaped upon Him in the Blessed Sacrament. In other words, we profusely seek to reverse the offenses against Him during His passion and death. We seek to repair and mend our relationship with Him by a solemn act of devotion to His Sacred Heart. This devotion includes our 9-day Novena and potluck on June 3, after our Friday, 6:30PM, Mass. Angels of Mercy Food Donation Request The Angels of Mercy is requesting food donations to replenish our supply of food in our pantry for those in need in our community. Your generosity has helped so many needy families in our community. Thank you in advance for your continued generosity. Page Four www.divinemercynatomas.com Vocation Ministry When families pray for future priests and sisters, God listens. Please pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of apostolic life or secular institutes. A Cross is circulated throughout the parish, with each family hosting the cross for one week. During that week the family prays every day for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Copies of a special vocations prayer are provided by the parish for use by the family. The cross is put in some prominent place in the house so that family members are reminded of its presence throughout the week. If you would like to take the vocations cross home to pray with your family, please contact Lillian Hernandez at [email protected] or (916) 307-7577 or the Parish Office.
