Avalon Yacht Club TOPSIDER October 1, 2015 • Volume 74, Issue 8 Dear AYC Families, October Restaurant Hours The GRILL ROOM will be OPEN EVERY FRIDAY from 5:30-9:30 P.M. until Mid-December featuring the normal Grill Room menu as well as special dinner features each and every week. Take out is still available and special orders are welcome with advance notice. It is with honor and excitement that Mike and I begin our Commodore year. We are sincerely blessed to be part of such a welcoming community with such tradition and friendship. The season of 2016 is a special time, as we will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Avalon Yacht Club. The wonderful memories of summer 2015 will forever be in our hearts, while the season transitions from beach chairs warmed by the sun to pumpkins sitting in the chilled air. A huge thank you to Past Commodore Patrick McAleer and his wife Deirdre for their fantastic years on the flag. Congratulations to Vice Commodore Lisa Booth and her husband Kevin as well. We welcome Rear Commodore, Frank Cirii and his wife Mia. What a dream team of flag officers we will have for your 2016 season. While we still have a few more months of 2015, the autumn season at AYC is active, with sailing, Friday night grillroom activities, and Sunday Eagles tailgates . The Board of Trustees and AYC staff is working hard to ensure that the season of 2016 will be sensational. The annual member satisfaction survey will be released shortly. Please take the time to complete it. This is your club therefore we need your feedback to make the Club the best it can be for you, our members. Please send your 2015 summer photographs to [email protected]. The cherished AYC yearbook is already in the works. We are also looking for past photographs spanning the decades of the 40’s-2000. Contact me directly to discuss historical photographs or special historical AYC memorabilia you may possess. We are already planning for the historical events that are to come next season. This will be a special year to celebrate the past, present, and future of AYC. To commemorate our historical year there will be the 75th Anniversary Party. If you're down the shore,be sure to stop at the A YC! I hope you are looking forward to the 2016 season as much as I am. Enjoy this beautiful weather.
