First United Methodist Church Of Wabash, Indiana
September 2015 First United Methodist Church of Wabash, Indiana F I R S T E D I T I O N Mission Statement…To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Vision Statement...To provide a loving fellowship that brings about spiritual transformation through worship, prayer, study and action in order to know Christ and to make Him known. 110 N. Cass Street, Wabash, IN 46992 THE PASTOR’S PAGE I am excited for the beginning of my fifth year as pastor at Wabash 1st UMC. In that time we have grieved and celebrated. We have buried loved ones, baptized babies, and welcomed new people. We have had losses and gains. What awaits for the next five years of ministry together? Surely there will be more of what has been before. If we are intentional in the way we Love, Lead, Teach, and Transform, there will be more baptisms than burials. There will be more new people and opportunities to disciple them. There will be small groups and outreach opportunities. I pray that you will join me in intentionally following Jesus. Let’s dream about what it means to Love our neighbors and one another. Let’s Lead our community together to know Christ and make Him known. Let’s Teach and learn how to follow Jesus and live like Jesus for people inside and outside the bounds of 110 N. Cass St. All of that together will, I pray, Transform us into God’s dream for us. Shalom, Pastor Kurt Senior Pastor - Rev. Kurt Freeman Pastor of Visitation - Rev. John Cook www.wabashfirstumc.org [email protected] Phone: (260) 563-3108 FAX: (260) 563-3109 Have you ever been stuck waiting for something…and the kids start getting cranky and want to play on your smart phone? Here’s an idea… download the Bible For Kids app. It is by LifeChurch.tv, the same people who made the Bible app. Both apps are awesome. The Bible for Kids is an interactive story Bible aimed for kids under age 8. It will read the story out loud, and the words will be on screen, then the kids can interact with the images while they explore the story. My boys have liked the app so much they ask to do it! What’s not to love about kids begging to read the Bible?! Download the Bible App by LifeChurch.tv for yourself too. It will read the scriptures out loud to you, so you can listen while you’re…cooking, driving, waiting in line…etc. It also has a wide selection of daily reading plans, so you can keep up on your scripture reading without getting lost. Two great apps, both are free. Now you’ll have the Bible with you everywhere you go. Go to https://www.bible.com/kids/ or your favorite app store to download. Here’s the icon so you know you have the right one: Happy reading! Elizabeth Freeman, Director of Children’s Ministries Coming soon to an intergenerational ministry near you… G.R.U.’s Crew.
